Jonny Quest: The Complete Original Series

Grew up on the original Jonny Quest ('64-'65, 26 episodes) every Saturday morning. Best stories, best animation, best voice overs. The show's intro gives me chills. When I opened the envelope and saw the Blu-Ray of Jonny Quest, I was giddy. Item arrived in perfect condition. Ordered in the wee hours of Wednesday morning (4AM), delivered that Friday by noon, 2.5 days later. Delivered by FedEx.

Item delivered on time : )

The product came in good condition, and I received it in a couple of days.

This is the original and far better looking than when I used to watch it on my 525 scan line TV. It is also far better than the earlier DVD release. This is not for the wilting snowflake types out there. 11 year old boys firing machine guns at agents from "foreign powers" (their vehicles have a red or pinkish tinge--you do the math). The language and cultural biases of the less woke '60s are there too. It's your choice to be offended or let history roll over with a knowing smile. Smoking, drinking, poison needles hidden in cigarette lighters, and human sacrifice are all part of plots that seem like they come from 1930s pulp magazines. The Blu-ray transfer from what may be original source is so good you can see flaws in individual animation cells. And that is not a negative comment; it's awesome! The colours are original and bright and the animation lines are sharp. Some of the backgrounds are subtle and beautiful. This is a totally fun nostalgia ride. The audio is in its glorious, original mono. All the classic sound effects are there. The long jazz-laden into and outro music title sequences. When it starts playing you know an Adventure is on its way. This set plays very well on even my old Blu-ray (one of the first) player as well as a modern Sony. And while The Invisible Monster doesn't frighten like when I was 8, it is still hands down the best episode (Forbidden Planet take a bow).

I remember the original Jonny Quest series (and this is the original) from my childhood as being one of my favorite programs to watch. What I like most about this series is that it is based on science and is not the typical "cartoon" characters with silliness. This series appeals to both young and old alike, and besides providing scientific information and being entertaining, the youngsters in the series are courteous and respectful and help instill these qualities in young viewers.

I grew up watching Johnny quest the original series and I like watching it now especially I haven't seen it on TV in a long time

The unpolitically correct dialogue. Just watched the whole series with the politically incorrect dialogue put back in. It was amazing to see this. A few cut out scenes were put back as well

I was surprised Walmart carried a childhood favorite if mine from the late *********.

Just as cool as I thought it would be. Was a kid when this show was popular and it really takes me back to see all these episodes. Its great!

Was shipped in a plain envelope with no protection or padding, movie arrived with a giant ***** in the case
