Bought this as a gift for my mother in law and she absolutely loves it! The picture is quality is great and the sound is surprisingly good although I would recommend getting a sound bar. Setup was quick and easy and the ability to install apps and stream content is a real plus. You won't be disappointed. JVC is a well respected company that has been in business a long time. I would highly recommend this television.
The TV arrived three days later than it was supposed to be delivered. But the tv itself was simple to set up and is fine for our needs. The picture is clear and crisp. We've only had it for a week - hoping things continue to be this quality. We are pleased.
Tv is great if you use Roku and have cut the cable, picture is quite nice Even though I was concerned at first about only getting the small Roku controller, I later found out it did everything I needed it too because you can select your local channel antenna connection with it and look at a program list, it has your tv volume and mute control on the right side Great product!
I am very pleased with this purchase. It was easy to setup and it has a great picture. I wasn't familiar with Roku and was actually looking for a android smart TV. After reading the reviews for this TV, I decided to go ahead with the purchase. I'm glad I did because I can do much more with this TV. I Was also happy to see that this TV supports casting.
I wasn't really in the market for a new TV, but after the built in Netflix app on my bluray player started having hiccups, I decided to get a smart TV and put the one the player was attached to in another bedroom. After I placed the order for this, I started reading the answers to questions about the product on Walmart's website. I got freaked out when some of the people were saying it does not have a TV tuner, it does not support wifi, it does not have a ethernet port and so on. The TV has all the above and more. I wonder if any of those people actually own this TV. They made it seem like this TV is strictly for streaming and nothing else. If any of you considering this TV and got turned off by those same answers, just ignore and make the purchase. I actually own the TV and I can tell you right now that it is wifi capable, does not need cable, has three HDMI ports, headphone jack RCA input jacks and an ethernet port. I have basic cable in the house, but this TV is not connected to it. It is connected to a $17 HD antenna that is attached to my bedroom window., and the live TV picture quality is out of this world. It did not prompt me for wifi set up either when I was hooking it up because it sensed that I had it plugged into my router via an ethernet cable. When I got it I barely slept for two nights straight because I was up watching a bunch of stuff on it. I couldn't believe the number of streaming apps on it with free movies, news, sports and other programs. I purchased it basically to get Netflix and YouTube, but was blown away by everything else that it offers. And oh my God! You cannot beat this price!
Well i think the pic is awesome! Setup took about 10-15 min for and ol school gal like me...i didnt make this chose lightly! I looked and studied many. But what i came to find for evrty 5-6 GOOD reviews you come across several BAD! I will say i am horrible dissapointed with the sound! I have this in my bedroom about 10 ft away and i have it all the way up to 100 on the volume(max)! Why such a good company why a wonderful pic crap out on the sound? Now im going to have to invest in a sound bar for sure and the are not cheap!!! Would i repurchase this tv again? Highly not! Price was an awesome tho. Would return it but such a hassel !!!
I have been purchasing JVC products for decades. Much of their product line is outsourced now and their latest LCD televisions are actually made by Shenzhen Mtc of China. The box was delivered heavily damaged but when I removed the TV, everything looked intact. The low quality construction however was very apparent. The plastic used is extremely thin and flimsy and everything from the power cord connection to the connectors for the HDMI cables is low quality. Even the power switch looked like an afterthought that was attached to the bottom, left corner of the set. There are otherwise no volume or input buttons and you have to rely on the remote for all of those functions. Unfortunately when I plugged in the TV, it was apparent that the set had been heavily damaged. The screen illuminated and appeared to be cracked internally. Fortunately I was able to bring the TV to my local WalMart and have the refund processed within minutes. I would be very hesitant to consider another JVC TV manufactured by Shenzhen. Their previous contractor, AmTran of Taiwan made some high quality, outstanding televisions.
Somebody come get this piece of trash out of my house!!! I have this piece of crap only 6 months and I have a black screen come on!!!! I had problems with the volume they walk me through to get it working again that was last month now I guess the picture tube is out??? I don't know!!! JVC GIVE ME BACK MY MONEY !!!!!
Audio started completely cutting out just after one month on rare occasion. Going into the settings and changing the audio options would make it work again. Now it does it on a regular basis. Sometimes you can't even get through one episode without it cutting out. Lasted past Walmart's return policy so now I have to deal with JVC.
Grab an empty Pringle's can, cut out the bottom, and have someone talk through the can to you from across the room. THAT is what the onboard speakers of this TV sound like, Enjoying the audio of music or movies on this TV is impossible - it's like an old handheld AM radio. You CAN buy Roku wireless speakers and subwoofer but those cost more than the TV itself. The picture is nice and it's easy to set up, but the audio is a deal breaker. Move on.
