I haven't field tested yet, but has passed the initial inspection as a Shimano Stradic buyer/owner for 25 years. I have seen the Stradic design evolution and know what weak points they have fixed along the way. I don't see any issues with the Sharky III upfront but all depends how well the mechanism holds up that switches from baitfeed drag to normal drag. Material is quality and with proper care seems it should hold up with time. Easily seems comparable to a $150 reel.

Excellent spinning reel. I highly recommend this reel to those needing a quality spinning reel. Well built. Solid. Comes with an extra spool which is handy if you need to change lines. Baitfeeder is easy to set and use.

Excellent reel for the money. I was impressed that the dual srag system worked on a reel at this price point. I used it to fish for catfish in heavy current and had no issues.

This reel is normally around $60 for a 4000 size on amazon and by random luck I came across it on walmart on sale for 34.99!!! i had already bought 2 from amazon so when i saw this i bought 2 more from walmart!!! these reels are so smooth and i love that they are sealed. im up in montana and i ran mine out in the snow and it was 10F outside and i never had a problem with the drag or bearing sticking!! im going to be taking them back out tonight after work and this weekend and its going to be in the low single digits temp wise. im not gentle to any of my gear and they have taken the abuse and show no sign of stopping!!

A great reel especially for the price. You can't beat it. Your wife won't even complain about you getting another fishing reel for this price.

this is my review after 6 months of use. the drag was perfect and it spun effortlessly. Now the seems to bind up somewhere inside. everything still works finebut that rubbing is annoying. honestly i could have dropped it or something but as of now, it is my 3rd string reel.

While the live liner sensitivity dial was very imprecise, once it was set, the system worked well and should be a standard feature on all reels. My difficulties with the Kastking reel related to its automatic bail locking or freezing up due to poor internal gearing. I found this to be true on several iterations of the same model. But generally, my overall impression is that the reel is a satisfactory option for very serious budget-conscious shoppers (but there are better options if one investigates other options beyond the margin seeking retail setting).
