Kaytee Crittertrail Two Level Habitat for Pet Dwarf Hamsters, Gerbils or Mice

For the little extra money for Kaytee's larger cage (this one), I think we get alot for the price. The bars are narrow so small mice can not escape. The spring loaded doors are the only doors I accept now, they are that great. The mice love the upper loft and tubes. I do wish the final packaging was done better. I would also rather pay a few extra bucks for a better wheel to be included, the included one does not have a bearing, is noisy and wears out fast. I've bought 4 of these so far, 3 new. One had nissing peices (may have been previously returned). The sticker is a fairly crooked on them all too, minor, but why? Haha. In the end, they are still the best cages I have found to this date. 95% satisfied, 5 out of 5 stars. Buy this, a wheel with a bearing and most should be happy with that.

Our hamster had been living in an old cage we bought at a yard sale that was an old version of this one. She is very happy in her new cage and it is easier to clean than the last model. Fantastic price for the quality.

I love the cage, it's very colourful and spacious. My hamster loves it and he sleeps at the very top. Sorry I didn't purchase it before

I bought this cage to use it for my dwarf hamsters. We wanted something that they could play in and have room to grow. We started with 2 dwarf hamsters. I don't think this cage is good for a regular sized hamster. The dwarfs that we have seem to be the perfect size to move up and down the tubes. There's also not much that you can do with the red platforms. The hamsters would walk up there and do nothing so we put treats there for them. It came with the water bottle that gets placed at the back of the cage by the wheel but my hamsters have to reach up to get to it even at the lowest point that we can place it. Other than that the hamsters really enjoy the cage. They seem to like running in the tubes and making their way to the top section which I love because it is removable and you can cover the end like a travel cage. It makes it easier to clean the rest of the cage. We now have 7 hamsters because they had babies and it seems to be fine space wise. You can always buy attachments to expand on space with this cage which is what we plan to do.

My hamster loves the wheel and sleeps in the top hatch part. When she was still getting used to me, she'd hide halfway in the tube and start to fall asleep in there lmfao. Nice starter cage.

many improvements from prior model we had...deeper tray, stronger locking mechanisms. Only disappointment is the wheel is now inside, reducing space but not by much

so cute and easy to assemble, side tubes difficult to line up and attach to base but no other issues or concerns

A piece came broken =[ A rather needy piece for blocking off tube holes. Instructions could have been clearer. Although, with all that, the cage can be/ is roomy.

Overall good, only problem we had was when we got it it was cracked in several spots. Small enough to tape up and not worry about it but big enough to notice.

I purchased this and a smaller one for my children's hamsters. It was okay at first while the hamsters were babies, however when they got bigger they did not fit in the tunnels. One of the hamsters died in the tunnel when he got stuck overnight. It was a terrible sight for the children to see the next morning. The hamsters would always escape as well due to the pieces not fitting properly and easily being loosened by persistent hamsters. We buried the dead hamster while still stuck in the tube and we threw the cages away.
