Very tender and delicious meat. But rather pricey for such a small can. Wouldn't recommend getting for more than two (2) people to eat if you're like me, on a tight budget. The ground beef and shredded pork are larger and cheaper, just as delicious, and well worth the money for quick and easy meal preps.
I always keep this for power outages or if I'm in a hurry. you can dress up so many ways you can make shredded beef sandwiches or burritos and tacos and my family's favorite beef and noodles and the meat is so fall apart tender once you heat it up it even gets more tender you don't need a knife it just falls apart and they don't season it but it tastes wonderful that way you can put your seasoning that you want in it
Absolutely recommend this product. I bought ot for the first time because I'm on Keto/Low Carb and wanted to make a quick meal with low carb tortillas. It has enough salt but I added some seasoning for spice and cut up bellbepper and onions. Let me say delicious!!! I have enough for leftovers. This was a great value for the price and best of all zero carbs. I will buy again. The meat was tender and tasty.
I was pleasantly surprised by how tender and good tasting the meat is!!! This can arrived dented so I thought that I would try it. I made a casserole with the meat (which I broke up in small pieces), can of rótele, 1/2 package of taco seasoning, can of corn , topped with cheese and 2 pkgs of cornbread which I baked. My husband was thrilled with dinner! It was very tasty and the meat was delicious and tender!!!
This is good stuff! [That said by someone who buys local beef, turkey, chicken and eggs.] I haven't canned my own meats in a while, so we decided to add a few of Keystone cans to our prep inventory for emergencies. We've had so many weather-related outages in our rural area over the years, that we've become accustomed to keeping some long-term staples on hand including canned and freeze-dried foods, bottled water (on rotation) and some outdoor camping essentials like a propane-powered stove to prepare foods. Simple stuff really makes a difference when home comforts are temporarily unavailable. Keystone is our %231 choice for ready-to eat, ready-made beef, turkey, and chicken. It's considerably less expensive than freeze-dried meats. The 28.5 oz Keystone cans are a few cents cheaper per ounce than the 14.5 oz cans, but I think your decision should be based on per-meal family size. If you're serving only yourself or 1, the 14.5 oz size is perfect for no leftovers. The larger can is best for family-size meals. When the power is out, I don't want to deal with leftovers. The texture of the beef, chicken, and turkey are like home cooked. We like the beef for one-pan meals like stroganoff style dishes or hearty sandwiches with au jus. There's no water added to Keystone meats, but there is a bit too much liquid for crispy tacos. The ground beef is great for easy-peasy tacos--add your own spice pack or mix. Two thumbs up for Keystone meats! We highly recommended them for disaster pantry essentials. The taste, texture and versatility are wonderful. Everyone should have a few quality canned food items (plus bottled water) stowed away for the what-ifs. Rotation is key for long-term preparedness storage, but Keystone products will literally last years beyond their best buy dates if stored in a cool, dry, dark area.
This beef is delicious, a tad pricy, but beef is expensive everywhere. Enough fat and natural juices to make a bit of gravy if so inclined. Cans were in good condition. As a single senior, I get 2 to 3 meals from the small cans. I will continue to buy this product.
This can meat from keystone is really tasty right from the can. I just do things like that 🤣 I mixed this into a needle meal, didn't need very much seasoning,as the meat has some so taste as you go. I just purchased a few more cans to stash and they expire in 2031. They need to be stored away from the heat. The price is about the only real issue I have, costs to much, try not to waste. I'm going to try the can chicken this company has next. Thank you for the quick delivery. Have a good week 😊
My initial reaction after opening the can, was not good. The aroma of canned beef, I'm sorry to say just reminds me of puppy food but once you hear it up it smells like pot roast. It also looks like pot roast or stew, broth included. It had a few chunks of fat on top not too much. I made fresh tortillas, put a little of the beef in two of them with cheese, pineapple salsa, shredded cabbage and sour cream. There's still enough beef for two more burritos. Hardy dinner. I wanted to try the canned beef because it doesn't contain any added unhealthy ingredients and thought it might be good as another emergency food option.
As i have said before. If you keep using fed x to deliver my food i will shop elsewhere. I had all of these cans .over 6 pounds of food in a box on top of 4 bags of cheese puffs. there was also 2 12 packs of armor Vienna sausages on top of the 4 bags of cheese puffs and kelloggs pastry crisp. 2 bags of cheese puffs busted open and pastry crisp crushed. Folded over brown paper is not enough to protect these kinds of food packaging's with 10 pounds total of can products on top of them. please use bubble wrap to protect my food and stop the useless wasting of my food and/or my MONEY !!!! i will not eat open bags regardless due the food tampering we have seen since the 1980's. i will send it back and you eat it.
It has an odd taste. Other reviewers say it's very salty, i didn't think so but recommend waiting to add any salt to your recipe til after you add this meat. I bought it to use instead of ground beef in camping spaghetti and it is ok and may take getting used to is all I'd say.
