This beef is delicious, a tad pricy, but beef is expensive everywhere. Enough fat and natural juices to make a bit of gravy if so inclined. Cans were in good condition. As a single senior, I get 2 to 3 meals from the small cans. I will continue to buy this product.
This can meat from keystone is really tasty right from the can. I just do things like that 🤣 I mixed this into a needle meal, didn't need very much seasoning,as the meat has some so taste as you go. I just purchased a few more cans to stash and they expire in 2031. They need to be stored away from the heat. The price is about the only real issue I have, costs to much, try not to waste. I'm going to try the can chicken this company has next. Thank you for the quick delivery. Have a good week 😊
All Keystone canned meats have minimal ingredients and it makes a difference in taste. The beef is a bit shredded and can be used in many ways. Served with brown gravy over noodles or rice, make enchiladas or burritos, home made beef pot pie, or simmer/roast with carrots and potatoes for a great tasting stew. Make au jus heros (McCormick makes sauce packets), Philly cheese steak, or make SOS open faced sandwiches. Excellent emergency preparedness food, or for days when you don't feel like complicated cooking because you can eat it right out of the can or just heat with a side of veggies. Tastes like pot roast straight from the can.
I cannot recommend this product enough! This is already cooked, all you have to do is open and heat. The taste is fantastic. The only two ingredients are beef and salt. Great for camping, emergency prep, or when you don't have fresh on hand. A must for my pantry. I always buy when it is on sale.
I have expressed the same satisfaction about the other Keystone canned meats. This one, like ground beef, pork, and chicken, is delicious. Normally I discard the juice of anything food in a can, but these meats don't require that. I don't know how they achieve it, but there is nothing off- putting or metallic about the taste.
I keep Keystone beef in my pantry all the time... It is exactly what it says it is...Beef! You can season it any way you want, as it is not seasoned with any thing but sea salt... I cook for one person and being there are no additives to this beef, it is easy for my older client to tolerate it.
As i have said before. If you keep using fed x to deliver my food i will shop elsewhere. I had all of these cans .over 6 pounds of food in a box on top of 4 bags of cheese puffs. there was also 2 12 packs of armor Vienna sausages on top of the 4 bags of cheese puffs and kelloggs pastry crisp. 2 bags of cheese puffs busted open and pastry crisp crushed. Folded over brown paper is not enough to protect these kinds of food packaging's with 10 pounds total of can products on top of them. please use bubble wrap to protect my food and stop the useless wasting of my food and/or my MONEY !!!! i will not eat open bags regardless due the food tampering we have seen since the 1980's. i will send it back and you eat it.
It has an odd taste. Other reviewers say it's very salty, i didn't think so but recommend waiting to add any salt to your recipe til after you add this meat. I bought it to use instead of ground beef in camping spaghetti and it is ok and may take getting used to is all I'd say.
It would be good if it had less salt. It's way too salty. But I'm going to try it again and drain all the juice off of it, and put it in a strainer and rinse it underwater to see if that will help. And maybe just try to make like a barbecue beef out of it or make some gravy and put over it.
The beef itself may be fine, but the cans were shipped in a glorified manila paper bag, and every can is dented in multiple places, including on seams. Kind of defeats the purpose of canning. The fault here lies with Walmart, not Keystone. One star for the fact that Walmart delivered the ordered product on time.
