I was hesitant to purchase when I read other reviews, but i found them to be inaccurate. The parts were all in the package and the materials were sturdy. I built the desk in a little over two hours and it was easy to move from the room I built it into my son's room so he could be surprised when he woke up. It is a great size for him (at age 5) and he will definitely be able to get a few years use out of it.
My small-for-her-age 9 year old daughter loves this desk! It fits her perfectly, has enough detail to make her feel "business-like," and it was relatively easy to assemble. The finish is perfect - not too shiny, not matte. I was worried it would look like laminate but it doesn't. The 2 doors on the left are DOORs, not DRAWERs, just fyi. Includes chair. Desk height is kid-size, so if you're wanting to swap for a swivel/office chair, take note.
Both of my daughters love this desk! Perfect size for toddlers, looks great, very sturdy. Kids use the chair to reach items in their closets all the time.
Make sure you check the dimensions on the desk to see if it will fill your needs. We were actually happy that it is smallish fits in kindergarten daughter's tiny room perfectly. She could not wait to get some homework! However we are crossing our fingers that she doesn't out grow it before 4th grade. According to other reviews it will fit a 9 year old, but I'm thinking 8 at best.
I bought this wood desk for my daughter's 8th birthday. The measurements on the KidKraft website were not an accurate measurement of the product I received from Wal Mart. The box says ages 5-8 years old. Had I known that, I would not have purchased this particular model. It is small and suitable more for a 5-6 year old. My daughter will probably use for about a year and pass it along to her younger sibling. KidKraft makes a good product and it was easy to assemble. Desk DOES come with chair!
There was a red spot on top but not very big just missed a spot of paint maybe or factory defect. Its sturdy and nice size for 10 yr old
Purchased for my tween daughter and got an unpleasant surprise. This desk is very small and is for small children. The picture makes it look big and in the description it says for adults in one place and if you really search you can find where it says is for kids. I just missed the kids part in description. Thank goodness for a great return policy. Is really a nice desk, it is just small.
I bought this desk for my 8 year old, it is way too small! It is a cute LITTLE desk, good for no older than a 4 to 5 year old. I think the dimensions for the height were taken with the top piece that goes sit on top of desk. Also the drawers were not drawers they are a cupboard. It did come with a small chair, which was not specified on the description. Was not happy overall, will be returning
Purchased this desk for 9 yr old granddaughter. First, read all of the description to see if the chair came with desk as shown in picture, purchased separately for 45.00, well guess what, the chair does comes with the desk. Secondly, in description it reads "Age Group - Adult" and is listed under desk for kids ages 8-12, box specifically marked "kids 6-8". Third, description reads " the three storage drawers .....", there is only the middle drawer, the other looks like 2 drawers but is really a cubby with a shelf. Lastly, the middle drawer right side piece was broken and was just hanging out inside the box. Not at all happy with this purchase but because it was already put together wasn't about to ask my daughter to take it apart and put another one together. If we're lucky we'll get 2 yrs use and then pass it on if it's still useable.
This desk is way too small. My daughter is 8 years old and I believe it would be for ages 6 or under. The information stated it was for children up to 10 years old. It seems to be very nice quality otherwise.
