[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As an owner of a RV repair company, got called out to repair a wall and ceiling water leak resulting in stains. Removed the inside trim, repaired the water leak from the outside, while the inside dried, once dry, installed KILZ and let dry overnight, then repainted the wall and ceiling panel.
I had bad water stains from storm damage here in Florida. On top of that was 20 years of smoking by the occupant built up on the ceiling and walls. I had my doubts but after the first coat it could barely be seen. After a light second coat everything was gone and the ceiling and walls were snow white. I put my colored finish coats on the walls and it looks great. The Kilz Restoration primer sealed in the damage, smoke stains, and odors. There is no bleeding thru on the ceilings which I left white. I'm a regular person and I wouldn't steer anyone wrong and certainly not for a company I have nothing to do with. But I do give credit where credit is due, this primer is great.
Worked great! We used it to cover smoke discoloration left after cleaning flat paint. The house was damaged due to smoke with no fire. That is no fire to the structure. The smoke was from a wood burning stove that my mother in-law didn't know how to use.
This Kilz Restoration paint does a fabulous job of covering odors. It took away powdery and perfume odors. I used this on my walls, ceilings, closet shelves, cabinets, doors and door jams. Worth the money. I Highly Recommend this Kilz!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was devastated when I seen the black mold show through my premium paint I purchased at another retailer. I found out about Kilz and how this product works great for hiding mold and keeping it from bleeding through. So I cleaned the mold and cleaned off the residue. I was amazed at how well this product worked for my application. Thank you to the makers of kilz. Love the product & very happy with the results.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this item about a month ago and I'm so glad that I did. While this was thinner than other primers I've used it worked incredibly well. because it was thinner it was easier to apply. This stuff works like a charm. Their belief in your products was right. The results were great
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had bought a house that had not been updated in 30 years. The walls were awful 70's colors and the smell in the house... Well let's just say we Kilz Maxed everything! Worked like a charm. New colors went on smooth.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The roof was old and started leaking over the shower The house was over 50 years old and the walls and ceiling is plaster Applied the product 3 times and it work perfect to cover the water damage
I bought this restoration product to cover up the odor left from removing wallpaper, this is an older house to be sure, After removing the wallpaper I washed and cleaned the walls three times, once using Zinsser wall paper remover, 2nd time laundry detergent and fabrics softener (suggested by Martha Stewart , 3rd time dishwashing soap and vinegar (Bob Villa this old house), then a final rinse of warm water, each time the smell was reduced, then at the advice from hardware store I bought this kilz restoration product and applied it, it went on nice, but now the odor is worse than the original old smell by many times, the horrible “paint thinner” smell will not dissipate after two days. I’m hiding in a bedroom with the windows open, and door closed, the windows open in the rest of the house with a fan blowing, both yesterday and today. DO NOT BUY and use this. I should have read the reviews first. Now what do I do? I can’t live in the house.
I've been in the restoration and painting business for 35 years. This is hands down 1 of the worst project specific products I have ever used. 2 solid coats over ink and marker on walls. Didn't seal anything. Even the light water and marker stains. All marks bled completely thru. Product does not cover any of the stains, ink or marker written on the label. Will return what I have left for a full refund. Will never use product again. It should definitely NOT be marketed as a primer sealer. Garbage.
