I've not used an adjustable measuring cup before and was able to look up instructions on line. Very helpful and educational regarding use and care. Container has two sides, one for liquids and one for dry. Learned the DRY side is accurate measuring for peanut butter, syrups, shortening, molasses, etc., sugar, flour, and all dry ingredients. Liquid measuring is for water, juice, oil, milk, etc. I tested for accuracy by placing the empty measuring cup on a food scale and zeroed out the gram weight. Then I filled the dry 1-cup measure with creamy peanut butter which weighed 262 grams. Next I zeroed out a stainless steel 1 cup measure (my usual method) and plunged out the same peanut butter from the adjustable unit into that cup. The plunger on the adjustable measuring cup expressed every gram of peanut butter, and all I had to do was scrape a silicone scraper across the plunger end to quickly and cleanly get the rest into the stainless steel cup to achieve the exact same gram weight of 262 grams. Info on line states 1 cup of creamy peanut butter weighs roughly 250 grams, and both the adjustable and fixed 1-cup measures contained exactly 2 level teaspoons extra of peanut butter accounting for the difference in weight in grams stated on line. 2 tsp is not enough inaccuracy to ruin many recipes, but if the extra grams concern you just pack however many grams recommended online for other gooey ingredients into the adjustable cup and with one easy push and one scrape of the end you will achieve desired results. Very easy to wash and dry by hand, no need for dishwasher abuse.

I love that this measuring cup is terrific for wet things like peanut butter. Just push the back and the peanut butter out smoothly without the mess and you get the exact measurement. it is great.

Takes a moment to figure out the best way to make them slide. They take a bit more effort to slide than I figured. The quality is good though!
