Kona, Varathane One Step Exterior Wood Stain + Spar Water-Based Urethane, Semi-Gloss-388142, Quart

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Varathane stain in Kona is my favorite stain ever. I recently started refinishing furniture. My first piece was a wooden end table. I decided to paint the body black but maintain the trim and stain it in the Kona shade. As you can see, it came out beautifully. It dried quickly, had very minimal odor, and has held up very nicely. Varathane stain is the only stain I buy!

The Dark Walnut color gave the wood a rich, beautiful finish, and the semi-gloss look is perfect. It went on smoothly and dried quickly, making the whole process easy and efficient. After a few coats, the gate looks fantastic and has held up well against the weather so far. I'll really be able to tell how it holds up after the intense heat of the summer here in the desert. We're really happy with how it turned out and would definitely recommend it for outdoor projects!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm glad I was able to get the Kona Semi-Gloss Water-Based Exterior Spar Urethane Stain. The color is perfect not to dark or light just great. I used about two coats and it came out looking brand new like I just bought it from the store. There was no strong odor at all and it dry right away. I'll be using the rest for my other projects I have.

I applied two coats of the stain forty eight hours before a week of thunderstorms and was pleased that there was no issue with damage to the stain application.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tested this on a piece of poplar wood to see how it would look and how it would apply before building planter boxes. It went on smoothly and sunk in nicely. I absolutely love the stain color which is Kona. There was odor but very mild. It seems to be holding up great in this outside cold weather. It does take a little bit longer of drying time, but I believe that is because of how cold it is right now. Very minimal odor. Great stain overall will definitely use again.
