Waaaaaay better than the Hormel ones i grew up eating. These actually taste like tamales whereas Hormel does not at all. Yhe flavor of these is pretty mild but you can taste corn and the meat too. You can actually dig out chunks of meat bc these are filled way more than Hormel
Very good for canned tamales, they taste better than the Hormel canned that I've bought in the past. I was going to buy some frozen tamales/no sauce but they were out. So I gave these a try, they are wrapped in paper and have a bit of sauce in the can too.
These tamales are really good even though they come from a can. I think That fresh or even frozen tamales are better than canned. However, these tamales as far as canned tamales go are really good . The cost of the canned tamales of this brand is reasonable. I enjoy them very much. I recommend them. Thank you.
These are some of the best tamales I've tasted. They could use a bit more filling, but the flavor is amazing. And they are reasonably priced for the value.
These canned tamales are very good for this type of product. The gravy is flavorful and not too spicy hot. I enjoy them with rice and La Preferida refried beans. Yes, I like all the products by this brand name.
LaPreferida is the highest standard on authentic products, that never disappoints. In addition to their quality, no one sets the standard as high when it comes to packing either. Everything is perfectly placed, and well packed to make sure that your package arrives safely.
I really enjoy La Preferida Tamales with my mom for lunch, but my order was a little mixed up. Instead of 3 cans of tamales, 2 cans of tamales and 1 can of La Preferida Nacho Cheese. Mom and I hate hot spices and this Nacho cheese boasts being Zesty with jalapeno. That rates it as inedible on this property.
We all know canned tamales are not that nutritional. However, sometimes u just throw caution to the wind haha. These are actually so much better than Hormel! Way less greasy, and way more flavor too. I use them as sides to a burrito or tacos for texture variety.
As far as canned tamales go, this one is a winner. I will melt cheddar on top of them and serve with salsa and sour cream. My favorite way of using them, is to make a quick Mexican Casserole. Lay broken tortilla chips (any flavor or type) at the bottom of a casserole dish, then lay a can of these tamales on top of it, lay another layer of broken tortilla chips on top and cover with 6 to 8 ounces of cheddar cheese (may use pepperjack, Mexican blend or any of your favorite cheeses,) place in the oven at 375 degrees for about 25 minutes. The cheese should be browned. If it's not quite done, put back in another 5 minutes. When it comes out of the oven, serve with sour cream and your choice of salsa. I also like serving it with sliced avacados on the side. This is a mild tasting casserole, so you can spice it up, as much as you like. I recommend these canned tamales. Thank you for reading my review.
I consider these very good and one of the brands that is easiest to unwrap. Savory as described, however tend to break up when unwrapped. This may not be a big issue when transferring to a dish.
