La Preferida Spanish Rice With Bell Peppers & Onions, 15 oz

miss the old Van de Camps taste, but this may be that recipe...a great shortcut for my stuffed peppers or eating cold out of the can when you just want a snack, it is an acquired taste.

I use them for my campstove jambalaya. The seasoning and veggies mix surprisingly well. And doesn't require boiling fresh rice when camping. Fair warning, it is pretty common to get dented cans.

This works great to make Texas Hash, and then with green beans, boiled potatoes covered in cheese, and rolls. Good stuff.

This is a hidden gem. I'm hooked..... fabulous taste.

The overall flavor was very good...a bit spicy, but not overly so. My main issue was that the product was very soupy, making the texture unappealing. i would have to add about a cup of cooked rice to absorb the wetness and not be runny.

It would be 5 stars if the store carried these so I could get them with my UHC rewards. This "La Preferida Spanish Rice With Bell Peppers and Onions" is so great I have eaten leftovers cold straight from the fridge, however there's not a lot of them and most times none. They're easy to dress up, spice up, or spice down. Quick easy dish just to heat and eat, or add meat for a comfort type of meal. Want less spice throw in some cream cheese until melted or a bit of sour cream or some type of mild cheese e.g. cheddar, Colby Jack, mozzarella. Spice it up with pepper jack cheese or just some hot peppers that someone prefers or both if someone really likes it hot one could add some hot sauce to or by itself. This Spanish rice is very versatile, and/or simple, for one to decide. Try and enjoy!

Over all the rice is delicious. But be careful about ordering through shipping. All 4 of my cans were dented and I'm not talking about little dent's.

Not great, a bit watery. I expected better from this brand. Will probably not buy again. A disappointment.

I can tell this had the potential to have very good taste but I can't taste anything much but salt. I know sodium is important in canning but you should be able to taste the food and not just salt. In my opinion it is not worth the money or the calories because of the overwhelming salty taste that ruins it completely. Maybe if you are mixing a little with something else with no salt it would be okay. But I eat it plain so it is not for me.

the rice itself is really good!!! i use it in a casserole. The way it arrived was HORRIBLE!!!! The cans were so dented!!! some if them im not sure how ill get them open!!! DO BETTER WALMART!!!!!
