La Roche-Posay Effaclar Mat Daily Moisturizer For Oily Skin, 1.35 fl oz

I recently started to experience perimenopause symptoms which included breaking out. I have very oily skin as well. I found this lotion after I desperately asked ChatGPT to recommend a skincare routine and products for me based on my symptoms, age, oily skin, and in perimenopause. This lotion was on the list along with a cleanser from La Roche-Posay. I love the feeling of this lotion. I use it for daytime. At night, because I've been using a retinol, I use La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm B5 Healing Ointment since it seems more “therapeutic” for my skin with using a retinol. I love this product as well and don't break out. My only suggestion is a larger size for the Effaclar Mat Mattifying Face Moisturizer as I go through it fairly quickly.

Excellent for oily skin, but too expensive for the quantity that is offered. Bigger economical tubes would be great for regular users. Rolls/ balls up on the skin if you use more than pea sized quantity for the face. Great for summer season. Much better (less tacky and more matt) than the regular Double Repair Tolerane range matt moisturizer by LPR.

Love this! I have tried a ton of different products and am so glad i ran across this. I'm not left with a greasy mess after applying and It goes on so effortlessly. A little goes a long way so I'm not also having to purchase all the time either, worth the price!

I have very sensitive skin and large pores. This moisturizer feels great and never causes breakouts. I use under my foundation.

Love this moisturizer as it doesn't leave that shiny oily look on your face.

This does exactly what it says it does. Hydrates without feeling tacky and being too shiny. I will purchase again. You do have to troubleshoot to use the correct amount. I just wish it was a bigger bottle for the price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this moisturizer. It has a very light but full coverage feeling. It also has a very light and clean smell which I appreciate. The only thing that I would change is the size of the bottle. For the price I wish that it came in a larger bottle more in line with the cleanser and toner size so that you can replace them all around the same time.

I don’t feel or see a big enough of a difference to justify the cost. And I can’t really blame them for the price because I paid $40 for an ounce, but never again.

This is not greasy, does not clog pores, and no strong scent that I appreciate. However I will not be purchasing again as it's expensive for such a small amount and I begin to see shine within an hour and within three hours I'm an oil slick. It does hold the oil at bay a little but not enough to justify buying again. However I could see how it would help someone with normal skin to stay matte.

This is yet another product from LaRoche that is too expensive for the small size that you get. I think it is an average face lotion oil free, but you get such a small amount it's not worth it. Be cautious when buying online to make sure you know what the size is. LaRoche has lost a lot of my business because of this. You could actually purchase a much higher end brand if you do the math vs. the tiny amount you receive. SS from L'Oreal is definitely better. So sad!
