Lasko 18.5" 3-Speed Oscillating Performance Table Fan with Tilt-Back, White, 2506, New

I'm very split on this review so I'm breaking it down (with photos, too) The good: *5 star part Easy to assemble. Fan speeds are adequate. Really cools a room nicely. Amazingly quiet even on high. (Personally I like white noise but, it's pretty quiet for those who don't like noisy fans) Good sized fan, nice tilting options and oscillation. Little handle in the back for portability. Color is great- white with beige - (until you see the navy blue plug that doesn't match?) The not so good : 1. little rubber thing, no idea what it's for (and it's filthy)! 2. the plug is navy blue. Makes me strongly believe it was replaced. Why not replace with white? Suspect this is a refurb. 3. one scuff mark *might* be ok -  but this fan is full of scuffs, front and back. When you purchase something "brand new" you should not  have to clean it. Would you expect to buy new underwear to see that someone used them? ***************** I'm keeping the fan because it works great. I had to really put elbow grease in to remove those scuffs and not all of them are gone. The Navy Blue plug will not be seen so it's not a deal breaker and I did clean the fan up as best I could. I just expect more when an item is marked as NEW.

This fan really delivers on air flow. I used it on the low setting last night, and it was as good as the high setting on the 12" fan I replaced with it. Some said the fan is noisy -- mine is not. In fact, it is quieter than the 12" one.

If you're looking for a quiet fan, keep moving. If you're like my family and need the sound from a fan more than the air, this is perfect. It's not ridiculously loud, but just loud enough. It's working quite well in my sons' room.

I PURCHASED THIS FOR MY BEDROOM. NOW THAT I'M ON OXYGEN THE MACHINE WARMS UP THE ROOM. THIS FAN IS PERFECT FOR CIRCULATING THE AIR. I RUN IT NONE STOP. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I HAVE A STANDING ONE IN THE LIVING ROOM WHICH RUNS 24/7 AND I'VE HAD IT FOR 2 YEARS. SO, THEY APPEAR TO BE VERY WELL MADE.

Assembly was a snap 5 mins. The snap connections between front and back enclosures could have be designed better.

Good price. Delivered on time. Assembly of the front grill to the back grill was at first quite frustrating, but I finally figured out the back grill was out of round. Both grills are being replaced by manufacturer. This fan moves a lot of air even at lowest setting. This is too much fan to replace a 12" desk or table type unless you need more circulation. It is somewhat noisier than a 12" model, but OK. Good deal

I was a little surprised that the fan cage was plastic and not metal and that the fan blade is grey instead of white but I must say that the fan is absolutely silent and produces excellent air flow. The low flow setting is a little strong but this fan is terrific for the price!

So I had to replace a Sanyo fan that I've had for probably 20 years. The Sanyo was oscillating, 3 speed, but was made of metal with a metal grill covering the blades and a good quality motor (it lasted at least 20 years). I don't expect to get anything close to that from this fan. It is all plastic and the motor can't be very substantial, because the entire fan is really light. But after looking all over, it seems that this is what you get unless you want to spend well over $100 for a table fan. The 3 speeds start out with low being fairly strong and high is extremely strong. Oddly, the control knob goes from off to high to med to low, instead of in progression of speeds from low to high. Even on low, it generates a meaningful amount of noise, probably because low is still a pretty strong breeze. The oscillation has about a 120 degree turning angle. For the price, it's not too bad. If I wasn't replacing a much higher quality product, I'd probably be more pleased.

I bought this fan based on the good reviews but I am not impressed. We have extremely hot, humid summers so fans help on the second floor which gets hotter than your first floor. First of all its cheaply made. Secondly it has a wobble when oscillating and thirdly the oscillating button doesn't always work. Perhaps I just got a defective fan but I glad I purchased the very economical repair plan as I just don't see this fan lasting very long. On a positive note it does have great output and is relatively quiet.

The great thing about buying from Walmart On Line, is when the product arrives DOA, or if you just don't like it, you can simply take it back to your local Walmart store. You don't have to package the product back up, pay for shipping, and deal with the manufacturer. This fan was defective. Only the high and medium speed worked. The low speed (which is what I use) did not work at all.
