iHome Smart Plug 10A, Works with Alexa & Google Home, App Control, Single Pack, White

I got these this summer to connect my air conditioners. They were a cheaper alternative than buying $300-400 window units that came with the Wi-Fi feature. I was afraid they would lose connectivity at some point or another, but they never did. So I've been able to turn each unit on from work and come home to a fresh space without the need to strip all our clothes off and wait for the place to cool down after manually turning on the A/Cs. The app is so easy to install and navigate and love that it lets you group several outlets and turn them on/off all at once. You can also name each outlet, main bedroom, living room, kitchen, etc. will be purchasing again for other appliances like lamps and such.

I'm giving it a 4 🌟 for this reason only. A few times a month it dose not turn on or off. And you have to ask Google home. Or Alex again. Most easiest setup I have ever done. And I run 40 plus Wi-Fi idems. BTW it's hard for me to give a perfect five stars 🌟 this one comes very close. Cons Flaws its big and round you lose 1 plug when plug into a power switch. Main reason for 4 stars 🌟

I have 7 of these in various rooms. One in the bathroom failed after a few months. The others have been working for 3 years. I also have 4 in-wall switches, 3 6-outlet strips, an outdoor switch a doorbell and 2 cameras from the same manufacturer. I had to replace a 6-outlet strip recently. I also tried several types of their lights and their thermometers but none of them worked for very long. I am mostly satisfied. Three caveats: 1: When these devices fail, they all fail the same way: the WiFi module stops working. 2: these products require an exceptionally good WiFi router with many simultaneous connections. I found this out when I changed internet providers. The new WiFi is very good, but good enough. I have so many connected devices that it drops connections. 3: the manufacturer (Geeni/Merkury innovations) has terrible customer service. Walmart can replace or credit a return but you will get no help from the manufacturer. I continue to use Geeni/Merkury Innovation products because I love their app. My porch lights and decorative lighting turn on at sunset and off at sunrise. My under-cabinet lighting turns on/off both when I turn on/off the ceiling light and also independently. The security cameras and doorbell camera have excellent resolution even in the dark and back up to a cloud service. When I am away from home I can see and converse with people who ring my doorbell. So, I am mostly pleased but keep in mind that if this is your first “smart” device you will likely also go down the Geeni/Merkury Innovations rabbit hole.

Two in a pack. They are not dual band. They work on a 2.4ghz signal. If your router is like mine and is 5ghz, then they are worthless to you. Also, the item I bought, only one of the plugs would even power on at all. Good price though, right? So, to sum it up, if your router is 2.4ghz go for it, you might get lucky.

I bought these hoping for an easy way to automate a couple lamps. The plugs themselves are compact and the scheduling and voice control features are nice once everything is set up. They connect to Wi-Fi without needing a hub and work with Alexa or Google Home, which is convenient for basic smart home setups. That said, the biggest downside is the app situation. These plugs don't actually work with the old iHome app anymore and require a different app to control them, which isn't made very clear. That made setup confusing and honestly pretty inconvenient. Once they're running they do the job, but the app compatibility issue definitely makes the experience more frustrating than it should be.

THE ON - OFF FEATURE IS REALLY HARD TO SET UP - IT IS NOT INTUITIVE AT ALL. THEIER CUSTOMER SERVICE IS GREAT! THEY DO SEND ME INSTRUCTION ON HOW TO SET UP THE TIMERS FOR MY 3 MODULES TO GO ON AND OFF BUT THEN THEY WORK FOR A WHILE BEFORE THEY FLAKE OUT AND DONT TURN ON WHEN THEY ARE SUPPOESED TO. VERY FRUSTRATING !!!!!

Trash product with no customer service. They also don't send behind their warranty. Neither switch functions properly using the scheduling functions. Multiple chats with customer service. No help. Keep be told “rest assured” someone will reach out in 24-48hrs. No one does. Asked for replacements. Denied. Save your money. Buy something from a reputable company.

mislabeled. item shipped is NOT 15 amps. main picture lists it as 15 amps, but it is only 10 amps. PLEASE FIX THIS LISTING!

I bought these to be able to turn a space heater on/off while out of town for a week and VERY cold weather coming in. It took forever to get it connected which required me calling CS. After about 30 minutes on the call I finally got it connected. During that call, the guy on the other end of the line was sharing some very specific details about my home network that was unsettling. In any event, I went down in the basement and plugged it into an outlet directly below my router. It was no more than 10 feet away through the floor in an unfinished basement (no ceiling). It didn't work. I was hoping to keep my pipes from freezing and was hoping this item would give me some comfort knowing I had a heater to keep the temps above freezing. I ended up just having to cross my fingers.
