10/10 fan Very powerful It arrived pretty fast I recently purchased the window lasko window fan to help cool down my Bedroom/Living Room and overall, I'm very satisfied. It does its job I recommend it
Best Fan to have even when the weather isn't sunny and hot. Shielded motor keeps the air moving and turning it around to blow the air out of the house is just as helpful as bringing it in. We use it in the bedroom window when the temp is in that 50-75 range and the humidity is low. Had three before and just now replaced the last one.
This little box fan puts out a lot of wind for the size of it. You need to make sure you attach the two included "feet" that braces it since on high it could easily blow itself over backwards. I like the fact that it's meant for indoor/outdoor use since it's so wet and humid in Florida in the summer.
I have a theory, with logic and conclusion. First the observation: The makers of this fan made it so that when you turn it on, the first setting available is high, then medium, then low. The logic: Since we all know that getting a motor running requires more power than it does to just continue running, not allowing a full start up is hard on the motor. So if you quickly go to medium setting without letting the high setting run for a few seconds, you may in fact be shortening the life of the motor. The conclusion: If we want this fan to have maximum lifespan, we should, when starting up, allow a few seconds in High setting before going to Medium. And to take it one step further, we likewise should allow a few seconds in Medium before going into low. Perhaps this explains why some fans end up kinda slow, and others do not. Though admittedly theory, it is based on known startup demands of motors. At any rate, I am going to follow this procedure in the hopes my fan has a long life! So far so good.
I have purchased a few of these over the years. They have always been reasonably priced. I've never had one fail. And the oldest unit is 15 or more years old. These fans are not quiet. However, they put out a good airflow. The volume level is a good trade off for air they move.
Seems like a quality item. Bought to use as a air filter. Attached a 20 x 20 x1 air filter to back and run 24 hours per day. Use in my bedroom so turn it on low speed at night. Even at low, noise seem somewhat excessive. Wish it wasn't quite so loud.
I LOVE this fan the only issue I have with it is starting two days ago the speed control knob stopped working properly it would click everytime I turned it and now it won't shut off and I have to figure out a way to fix it
my delivery instructions were to leave the package at the top of the ramp at my front door. instead the driver balanced it on top of the rail at the bottom of the ramp.
I bought this fan because product reviews I read gave this fan the edge for performance over competing brands. This fan is very quiet and reasonably powerful, and I like the Weather-Shield feature that includes a safety fuse for window use. However, there is a major problem with these fans that Lasko is well aware of. The blades tend to wobble noisily to the point where the fan is unusable. The wobble issue began on my last fan within two days of use. I had to buy four of them to get two without the defect. I made the mistake of buying the first one directly from Lasko, which has horrible customer service and refused to replace the defective fan. If you buy one, make sure you save your receipt and get it from a reputable dealer like Walmart which will allow easy returns.
The fan is great because it's very powerful at 2000 CFM for removing air from the room. I use this fan in the window to remove stale, hot air from the house, but the reason I gave it a 1-star rating is due to its poor craftsmanship. The handle broke off, and the fan fell to the floor, landing on my foot. I'm not sure if the handle cracked during shipping, as the fan was not packed with any foam to cushion it during delivery. I have bought this brand for years because of its quality, but I haven't owned this fan for more than a month and it's already falling apart. This is why I ended up returning it.
