LeapFrog LeapStart - Green

My kids used to have one of the older LeapFrog models, but this model is a big leap ahead. It doesn't use cartridges anymore. You download the files for the books by plugging the device into your computer. It's much simpler, and now there's not an extra part to lose. The book responds quickly to the stylus. The stylus is attached to the device, so it can't be lost. The toy is durable and folds up easily. The books are fun and interactive. It's a great solution when your kids want story time but you don't have time to stop and read to them. It's also fun to use with your kids for cooperative play. Walmart compensated me for my content, but my review is 100% my opinion.

Bought this for my daughter and she really liked it. Its easy to order and install on your computer and easy to order additional books and remove them if needed. My daughter loved answering the questions or just finding out what different things where or the sounds they made. The book fits nicely in the case so they can be carried around together. I would tell others about this its a good learning toy.

This toy is very durable for a two year old. I like the fact that you can buy more books to add to it do the child doesn't get bored. LeapFrog has been around and has a great reputation for teaching toys.

Perfect interactive book to buy before diving into buying a tablet. For a kiddo that loves to read, this is great! Nice that it can grow with child well into 5/7 years old.

Since this is a Christmas gift, I can't rate the item. As far as Walmart's online service; it was great! Everything was as it should have been. And!, there was a "rollback" on the price, automatically my credit card was refunded the difference.

PROS Easy enough to set up. Install batteries, hook up to computer and download the app and your books. Pretty straightforward. Books are excellent and are great learning tools. Easy to snap the books into place and get it started- my daughter can do it herself and she just turned 4. CONS Where it falls short is in the design and functionality of the actual hardware itself. The reader is clunky and Batteries drain super quickly, I've had it for a total of 2 days (only about 1-2 hours of use total) and I've already had to replace NEW batteries once. The stylus cord is just a smidge too short and doesn't tuck in well on top of that, making it awkward to use and prevents my daughter from comfortably holding and properly gripping the stylus. She has to hold it upside down to reach parts of the pages. This would be a lot smoother with a wireless stylus, or with a longer, retractable cord that plugs in from a different location.

Purchased this item for my two year old grandson's birthday after reading reviews. Unfortunately after several attempts trying to connect to the internet to obtain downloads it stalled four times. Tried everything mentioned in the error 1 message so we exchanged it for another. Hopefully that one was a dud. Sure hope this one works so far I'm not impressed. I am impressed with Walmart's return/exchange policy.
