Perfect gift for my 2 year olds Birthday! He loves it and is able to use it nicely on his own.

This is the closest thing my toddler will get to a tablet before the age of five. I was so close to getting him a fully functioning tablet, but this LeapStart is just what he needs to learn the basics. He is already repeating the words that he hears while playing with it. It took him a minute to learn how to use the attached stylus, but he figured it out within a day or two. It's a great learning tool for toddlers. My son is two, and he loves it.

It can really grow with them, from just tapping around and hearing numbers and letters/ words to eventually following instructions. Keeps it interesting, we are enjoying it!

Ordered this product for my granddaughter who graduated from preK, and she loves it and could not put it down! She loves reading and really enjoys sitting quietly with a book, and the leapstart bundle has really sparked her interest even more. We love it!

My son just got this for his birthday and absolutely loves it! It's a great interactive toy without a screen. That said, this toy needed a battery change (I used the ones provided) one day after use. I replaced the batteries with the recommended battery type (AA Alkaline battery) that is mentioned in the manual. It wouldn't turn on, and I tried more than one set of AA batteries. I tried all the suggested troubleshooting to get the machine to work. I thought it was busted, so I went back to the store %26 exchanged it. A day later, the same thing happened again. Why would two different machines be faulty? As I was replacing the batteries again, I noticed that the AA batteries that were provided looked different than the Duracell AAs I used. After a thorough google search, it came to my attention that this machine is very sensitive and only Energizer AA or GP AA (the batteries provided) would work. Not Duracell AA as they are thicker, shorter, the negative end is flatter and the plus end bump isn't as long. Apparently AA batteries differ slightly in their shape depending on brand. Who knew?! So I went out and bought Energizer AA batteries and now my son can play with this toy again. I wish that the manual would specify that only Energizer or GP batteries work in the machine. It would have saved me a lot of time trying to figure it out when I could have just gone to the store and bought the proper batteries to begin with. But thought I'd mention it here to save the next parent from frustration on why a day old machine doesn't work.

Great product but I wish I would've known I needed a computer to download content from the books.

I bought this toy for my three year-old son because he was showing signs that he was ready to start reading and it is a pretty cool reading device for little kids. I just wish the little books could somehow attached to the whole reading pad itself and not just lay in it because it will easily fall out other than that it's a pretty cool device for beginners that are learning their shapes letters, Numbers and colors. I do wish that it does come with advanced stages because my son already knows the things that are attached inside of the book but overall it is very nice.

I had a LeapStart growing up and LOVED it. They've definitely changed since I was a kid. Maybe I didn't read into it enough, but for it to even work you have to be able to connect it to a computer first. Luckily I had an old laptop, but I know a lot of people don't have computers anymore. Plus it's insane to me how much each book costs.

i ordered an item that was on sale. i was sent one that instead of it being a sale item, one that was clearanced out because it was a return or damaged. i would not suggest shine buy from Walmart a this isn't the first time the company has behaved unethically. buyer beware.

Set as instructed for it to not work at all!
