Learning Resources Avalanche Fruit Stand Fine Motor Grip Game 42 Piece Set Ages 3

I bought this for my preschool and the kids LOVE it. It is fine motor skills training at its best! The night we got it, my husband and I played it twice, and we were thoroughly entertained, too!

My 7-year old son gets excited to play this game. He thinks the whole idea of trying to not let the fruit fall is very funny. I bought it for him because he needs help developing his fine motor skills. The tweezers that come with it work the best, but we also take turns using some tools that come in the Helping Hands Fine Motor Tool Set.

I bought this game for my son. It was an absolute hit. I was trying to find things to hold his attention for a little longer and it worked. His motor skills stacking the fruit was amazing and he was determined and focused. Great family game.

I have two daughters ages 4 and 8 and we played with the Avalanche Fruit Stand. It kept them occupied for hours. Weather they are playing the game, play with the fruit alone or along with their dolls or Barbie's we know that their imaginations will take them to different ideas of the game and learning their colors, shapes, numbers, coordination and patience. I can take the game to a friends house with other children and I get the same result; hours of fun! We used the games as well at a child's birthday party and again we had a pleased host because there was a group of shy children not wanting to be the larger group of kids and they played with the Avalanche Fruit Stand game the remainder time of the party. My sister inlow runs her own day care and loves the game as well for her day care kids because the under the age of 5 and are learning colors and shapes and even staking things you can even teach counting and sorting with it that's the stuff she does with it. My little 4 year old has ditch the iPad to play with this game because she loves the preted with it more then the iPad she likes to count them and sort the fruit and add and sapract it and even name the colors and shapes and even tell me the defrent fruit and what she really loves to play with her sister is trying to stack it and pull the fruit out its so fun to watch the girls play. I would highly recommend getting it for kids.

This game is very colorful and eye catching. The game pieces and fruit stand game board are fun to look at. The set up was extremely easy buto be sure to read instructions before trying to a the game or you will have a mess as the instructions are on the back of the board. It would be easier if the instructions were separate from the board. The riboon and velcro make it very easy to change the difficult of the game with little effort. The tweezers are great for little hands. My kids and their friends enjoyed the game (ages 12 14 and 7). The older ones would not play it alone but liked playing it with the youngers. Great for fine motor skills and critical thinking. It kept their interest for two rounds then got tedious. A great game for short attention spanspan and short time frames....probably jo.more than thirty minutes.

This game is really cute. The colors are vibrant. There is learning involved, such as counting and colors. They have to spin the arrow and whatever color or number it lands on is which color fruit to take or how many to take. The person who gets one of each color fruit first wins. There is skill involved in trying to remove a fruit without causing an avalanche. There is only 2 levels that the board can be adjusted to for difficulty. It's not much of a difference in the slant of the board. The cardboard sign doesn't stay in place very well. Also, the tweezers that are used to pick up the fruit are rather stiff and I'm not sure a 3 year old could work them. The fruit is very rubbery and they sort of "stick" to the board, so it doesn't really "avalanche" very much. Kids might want to play with the fruit more than using them for the game. I don't think it will hold a child's attention for very long. I do like the fact that there are such bright colors and that it teaches a child the colors and counting. This game is rated for ages 3+/Pre-K. With that in mind, there is, I believe, a choking hazard with the size of the fruit.

Out of the box found that the stand is all cardboard. Not sure how long it will last? Set up is simple and fast. Instructions are simple and well stated. The placement of the instructions on the back of the Fruit Stand is awkward. Its difficult to review/refer to the instructions and wish they had placed them elsewhere. The fruit and tweezers are very well made design, heavy plastic, good colors and shapes. The tweezers can be used for other things and help with the same skills they need to learn for holding a pencil etc. This game is good for motor skills with the tweezers, eye/hand coordination, learning colors, counting, sharing, taking turns, learning how to use the spinner and of course clean up with all the small pieces. The concept of the game itself however is weak. There are a few adjustments to make the game more or less difficult and even on the most difficult its just not challenging. For some its not enough to hold attention for very long. Fun but not a favorite.

My 3 year old granddaughter Kate has played with this everyday since I gave it to her. Her parents have blocked out time each day for them to play this as a family. Kate loves her mom and dad time, and we love that she is having fun while learning! She spends her day in daycare with a lot of activities, but too much of her evening is spent on the iPad learning apps. It's nice to see her sharing, interacting and creating memories. She also has a very short attention span, and this has really helped her to focus on the activity. Her only problem is determining which side of the spinner she is supposed to be watching. She has "arrow" issues! Although the instructions on the back of the stand are simple to follow, you can also make up your own. She loves to spin and put something back instead of taking it out. Just her way of making the game last longer. She doesn't think anyone has figured that out! And she also doesn't care to end the game when there is a winner, so most of the time the stand has to go empty and then a winner is declared. A set way to play isn't necessary, but teaching the rules helps train little ones how to follow instructions. Doesn't mean they will follow them, but it's a start. This game has an easy set up. The stand is made of a strong cardboard, which is very sturdy. I'm not sure how the fruit is made, but it's really nice. It's heavy and not flimsy or hollow. The colors are great for boys and girls,,, and fruits. The tweezers are just right for small hands to grip. It teaches children identification of fruits, colors, numbers, counting, hand and eye coordination, dexterity, concentration, rules, sharing, playing together, waiting your turn, and picking it up and putting it away when the game is over. I would recommend this game.

This learning game was a little less than what I expected. The game comes with very durable fruit pieces. 8 of each strawberry, orange, grape, apple and bananas. I actually really like the way they are made. It's not that cheap plastic that buckles but rather a very thick non bendable plastic. You are supposed to arrange the fruit into the carboard fuitstand. Which at first I was thinking was not going to hold the fruit. It was just going to roll out. But to my surprise it held. You then flick the wheel and use the super thick tongs to pick fruit out of the stand trying not cause an avalanche. The reason I gave this game such a low score is because the tongs are so bulky and stiff it's hard for a 3 yr old to wrap their hands around them and maneuver them. And the fruit stand itself; being made of carboard I can see this being ruined very easily. And even tho I said earlier the fruit held up in the fruit stand, if you move the stand with the fruit inside, it all falls. I can see how this does challenge a child's mind to recognize shapes, colors and patience. Clean up and storage back into the box is very simple.

Well this is not a great toy.It is kind of cute. The box stands up and you, stack the fruit up(made of rubber)and you spin the wheel and take out the color of fruit. like Operation game. But you cant let the fruit fall. The fruit is totally cute. The fruit is made not to slide.NOT FOR SMALL CHILDREN SMALL PARTS and the fruit looks real enough to eat.Not a long attention getter. But it is a fun game.great for a rainy day.Overall I would give it a 5 out of 10.Fun game but not a long attention keeper.
