Perfect for preschool

Brittney June 28, 2013

I bought this for my preschool and the kids LOVE it. It is fine motor skills training at its best! The night we got it, my husband and I played it twice, and we were thoroughly entertained, too!

Silly fun!

Jen April 15, 2014

My 7-year old son gets excited to play this game. He thinks the whole idea of trying to not let the fruit fall is very funny. I bought it for him because he needs help developing his fine motor skills. The tweezers that come with it work the best, but we also take turns using some tools that come in the Helping Hands Fine Motor Tool Set.

I definitely recommend this game

Kelly January 6, 2019

I bought this game for my son. It was an absolute hit. I was trying to find things to hold his attention for a little longer and it worked. His motor skills stacking the fruit was amazing and he was determined and focused. Great family game.

Very good game

Dmml4 January 16, 2015

I have two daughters ages 4 and 8 and we played with the Avalanche Fruit Stand. It kept them occupied for hours. Weather they are playing the game, play with the fruit alone or along with their dolls or Barbie's we know that their imaginations will take them to different ideas of the game and learning their colors, shapes, numbers, coordination and patience. I can take the game to a friends house with other children and I get the same result; hours of fun! We used the games as well at a child's birthday party and again we had a pleased host because there was a group of shy children not wanting to be the larger group of kids and they played with the Avalanche Fruit Stand game the remainder time of the party. My sister inlow runs her own day care and loves the game as well for her day care kids because the under the age of 5 and are learning colors and shapes and even staking things you can even teach counting and sorting with it that's the stuff she does with it. My little 4 year old has ditch the iPad to play with this game because she loves the preted with it more then the iPad she likes to count them and sort the fruit and add and sapract it and even name the colors and shapes and even tell me the defrent fruit and what she really loves to play with her sister is trying to stack it and pull the fruit out its so fun to watch the girls play. I would highly recommend getting it for kids.

Age-appropriate, good sorting, identifying game

hotflashvickie January 4, 2015

I got this for my nephew for his third birthday, and he loved it from the moment he saw it, I think mainly because of all the brightly lit pieces he can hold. While this "game" included instructions, they were too complicated for this just-turned-three boy to tackle, but he was certainly entertained without instructions. For instance, just using the "pincher," as he calls it (the tongs included) to pick up the different colored fruits was just a blast to him. He had never used tongs before, and he had it mastered in short order. Most toys before this, the child has to rely on his hands to pick up the pieces. Including the tongs was a great idea. You can leave it flat on the floor instead of propping it up with the included cardboard stand if you want, because for now he is happy enough just picking up whichever fruit you ask him to identify (either by color or name of fruit). However, any parent could think of ways to ask the child to select a fruit and try to remove it without causing an avalanche... I'm not crazy about the avalanche part, though, because of the resultant mess, fruit scattering all over the hardwood floors and scattering into the dog dish on one occasion, but we haven't had to pick up too many avalanches so far, as he is content mainly just identifying the fruit and playing independently with them. There are enough pieces to keep any three-year-old occupied, and as he grows a little, the game instructions could be used easily.

fruit stand avalanche

brancann December 30, 2014

This game is very colorful and eye catching. The game pieces and fruit stand game board are fun to look at. The set up was extremely easy buto be sure to read instructions before trying to a the game or you will have a mess as the instructions are on the back of the board. It would be easier if the instructions were separate from the board. The riboon and velcro make it very easy to change the difficult of the game with little effort. The tweezers are great for little hands. My kids and their friends enjoyed the game (ages 12 14 and 7). The older ones would not play it alone but liked playing it with the youngers. Great for fine motor skills and critical thinking. It kept their interest for two rounds then got tedious. A great game for short attention spanspan and short time frames....probably jo.more than thirty minutes.

Lots of laughs

ILuvsales2 December 29, 2014

Fruit stand is a fun and fast game for kids to play. The fruit pieces are good size, bright colors and are made of rubbery plastic. The spinner is easy to spin with no sticking. Tweezers are large for small hands to hold and use. The tweezers are also made of durable plastic. The fruit stand however is made of cardboard and probably will not hold up to four year olds stepping or sitting on it. This should also have been made of plastic. This is a cute game with simple enough instructions for young mind to understand. Using the tweezers to pick up the fruit builds hand eye coordination and dexterity. The game is played rather fast so the players do not get bored. This is also helpful with teaching the names of five colors and five fruits.

Good Game but could be improved.

motherbiker1 October 23, 2014

Although this is an excellent tool for teaching colors and identifying different fruit, the tongs were rather difficult for a young child to squeeze together. A more pliable set of tongs would make this game excellent, rather than just good. On a more positive note, the concept was fun and inviting for young players. In addition, the vibrant colors were a major attention-getter for young eyes. The spinner worked well and was easy to operate. Recommend that the size of the board be increased, as well as a proportionate increase in the size of the fruit. Most children would react favorably to larger pieces to hold. Also, the enhanced safety factor with larger pieces would deter or prevent accidental swallowing of the small fruit.

Sturdy easy game to teach young ones

LexBuyer January 3, 2015

This is an easy game to play and will introduce the youngest ones the concept of board games, like taking turns, spinning a wheel etc. The fruits and the tweezers are sturdy and will suits little hands well. Older kids also seemed to have fun playing this game. Once little ones have tried this game, they will be ready to move onto more complex board games. The rules are simple and available on the back of the fruit stand. I looked all around for the instruction sheet for a while before I noticed the back of the stand. So mentioning this to those who might end up making the same mistake! Basically you have to unstack the fruits based on the spinning wheel, without dropping any other fruits. For little ones, there is an educational component in the form of fruit and color identification. In any case its a fun game, and got a lot of laughs and kept 4 and 6 year olds occupied for a while. If the tweezers are too difficult for the little one, then use hands to pick fruit - they will still be dropping some! Packs away easily - which is another advantage. Sturdy and built to stand reasonable amount of abuse.

avalanche fruit

odis64 October 26, 2014

So I like the concept of this game. It has a spinner and you have to match fruit to the colors and numbers. It also has a fine motor component where the kids need to use large plastic tweezers to pick the fruit up. The problem that we encountered was the the fruit did not avalanche. You can set the game up at different levels and even on the highest incline it did not avalanche. That was kind of disappointing as the kids then won quickly. It has good points such as the fine motor skills needed to play and the color matching and counting skills needed. It can be played independently as long as you have children who will not put the small fruit pieces in their mouths.
