Learning Resources Magnetic U.S. Map Puzzle - Geography Matching Games, Ages 4+

This is an awesome map! The pieces are thick foam/magnet/paper overlay, have a strong enough magnetic force to hold onto a vertical board (through cardstock paper too), and are safe enough size wise for my 2yr old to play with (not particularly worried about a choking hazard). It comes with a "puzzle piece map" of the US so kids can put the states in the correct location, which is super cool for kids learning to put puzzles together. My 4 and 2yr old LOVE putting this together and finding all the states that we have family living in. Definitely recommend for kids who are learning their states and like puzzles- 5 stars!

This has been a FANTASTIC learning toy. My nephew has been telling people for MONTHS that he's from a distant country (Arizona). He finally understands the different states and that we are all a part of the U.S.A. More to love: The states have a little picture on them to help kids to know a bit about them (such as a potato for Idaho). This puzzle has also spurred many conversations on where his family is from and where we were all born! The fact that it is a puzzle is also super helpful for understanding the shapes and sizes of states, plus where they are on the map.

I love the idea of a magnetic map! The magnets are really strong, and kids seem to enjoy putting the map together. If you're using this at home, it might take up the majority of the side of your fridge. Cons: The pieces aren't that durable. One puzzle piece already bent, but it doesn't take away from the ability to use it. Suggestion: I wish the pieces would snap together, so you could use it on a magnetic surface or a plain surface (e.g., the ground or table). I received this product in exchange for an honest review.

Grandkids like that magnets stick to magnetic write-on board, file cabinet or fridge. A few states got crinkled corners during packaging or transport, but are ok. Pieces appear to be foam, coated on one side with plastic film and on the other with thin magnetic sheet. Pieces are not bright neon colors but are nice vibrant earth tone colors.

My six year old grandson had no problems at all "building" the United States with this magnetic puzzle. He was able to look at the outline map that is provided to build his map, but a younger child could put the map together on top of the outline mat making it easier to complete. It is a great way to learn the location of each state and the major product associated with each state. There is also a guide provided that gives interesting facts about each state (in four different languages!). The only drawback to this product is that you must have a magnetic space (approximately 15" x 20") on which to assemble the map. For school use, this usually won't be an issue since most classrooms have a magnetic whiteboard. For home use, though, it may be an issue since so many refrigerators these days are stainless steel and do not have magnetic properties. Just be sure you have a magnetic space to work with this product - can be purchased relatively inexpensively or find at a garage sale. Great way to learn the geography of the US in a fun way - magnetic pieces are much more fun than an interlocking pieces in most puzzles. Adults will have a good review as well.

We just opened this puzzle and we are lovin' it!!! My 4 year old is having a blast putting these puzzle pieces on the fridge. While my 6 and 8 year old are learning a great US geography lesson all while playing (: The states are colorful and the right size for adults and children. They have at least one picture of something popular in that state on each piece which prompted questions from my children. So we are learning where the states go but also some facts about each state. We are planning a road trip this summer and with this puzzle map we can easily show the children where we are starting and which states we will pass through. This is a great educational, fun and interactive activity!!!

I loved the concept of magnetic maps and had been looking at them for a long time. Finally I bought it as a gift for my friend's daughter. Hope she loved it. U even need to make world maps in magnetic as kids love to play with them. They have fun arranging them on the refrigerator.

My 6yo boys were eager to work on this puzzle map. Since they're learning how to read, as they put the map together we worked on trying to sound out the state names on each piece. Once they were done it was fun to point out various states that we've traveled to, where relatives live, major landmarks, etc. After the boys assembled the puzzle, they took it apart and moved it to the fridge. I like having a learning tool like this in a place where the kids will become very familiar with it and play with it often. The included fact sheet were a great idea, and definitely helps kids get more out of the puzzle. I read off the facts to the boys and we discussed the ones that caught their interest. However I'm really not sure why the fact for Virginia was actually about Washington, D.C. (talking about the U.S. Capitol Building). we like the guided outline for this as this was for a 4 year old who does not know his states. It helps in teaching him where he lives and where other family might live. we like the there are different facts in a picture form on each state but that the facts are also written into the instructions so you can teach them a bit more as you build this puzzle
