Learning Resources Magnetic U.S. Map Puzzle - Geography Matching Games, Ages 4+

This is an awesome map! The pieces are thick foam/magnet/paper overlay, have a strong enough magnetic force to hold onto a vertical board (through cardstock paper too), and are safe enough size wise for my 2yr old to play with (not particularly worried about a choking hazard). It comes with a "puzzle piece map" of the US so kids can put the states in the correct location, which is super cool for kids learning to put puzzles together. My 4 and 2yr old LOVE putting this together and finding all the states that we have family living in. Definitely recommend for kids who are learning their states and like puzzles- 5 stars!

Got this for my daughter for Christmas to show her where the states are located.

My six year old grandson had no problems at all "building" the United States with this magnetic puzzle. He was able to look at the outline map that is provided to build his map, but a younger child could put the map together on top of the outline mat making it easier to complete. It is a great way to learn the location of each state and the major product associated with each state. There is also a guide provided that gives interesting facts about each state (in four different languages!). The only drawback to this product is that you must have a magnetic space (approximately 15" x 20") on which to assemble the map. For school use, this usually won't be an issue since most classrooms have a magnetic whiteboard. For home use, though, it may be an issue since so many refrigerators these days are stainless steel and do not have magnetic properties. Just be sure you have a magnetic space to work with this product - can be purchased relatively inexpensively or find at a garage sale. Great way to learn the geography of the US in a fun way - magnetic pieces are much more fun than an interlocking pieces in most puzzles. Adults will have a good review as well.

We just opened this puzzle and we are lovin' it!!! My 4 year old is having a blast putting these puzzle pieces on the fridge. While my 6 and 8 year old are learning a great US geography lesson all while playing (: The states are colorful and the right size for adults and children. They have at least one picture of something popular in that state on each piece which prompted questions from my children. So we are learning where the states go but also some facts about each state. We are planning a road trip this summer and with this puzzle map we can easily show the children where we are starting and which states we will pass through. This is a great educational, fun and interactive activity!!!

My kids were excited as soon as they saw just the box. Packaging was sturdy, colorful and had a cool carrying handle. I have 4YO and 11YO daughters and they both really enjoyed this toy. The pieces are thick and sturdy. The magnets are strong. The paper map that was provided made it just challenging enough for the younger one to handle and the older one enjoyed trying to construct the US without the help of the paper. As a parent I enjoyed the insert that provided a special fact about each state, reading it as the kids placed the magnets in the correct spots. I also love that the capitol of each state is listed on each piece. Even i learned a little from that! All in all my kids really like this toy. They have continued to play with it and even like doing to together. My only question about its construction was why they put Alaska at the bottom of the map, as opposed to maybe the top left hand corner? Seems like that would make more sense. I had to explain to my youngest where it really is and why I thought they placed it there (which was probably so they wouldn't have to make the paper bigger).

we like the guided outline for this as this was for a 4 year old who does not know his states. It helps in teaching him where he lives and where other family might live. we like the there are different facts in a picture form on each state but that the facts are also written into the instructions so you can teach them a bit more as you build this puzzle

Four of my students tested this product out and, for the most part, they enjoyed it. They were definitely engaged. The only thing they repeatedly became frustrated with was that the magnetic puzzle pieces kept sliding down the magnetic surface of the board.

This toy was great for my 5 y/o daughter. She enjoyed matching the states to the outline key. It was a good educational opportunity to ask her which states she knew and which one we live in. She will play w/it until the puzzle is complete. I do wish the outline of the map was magnetized.

This magnetic map comes with interesting facts in the guide, along with a map outline with state capitals. It takes less than 20 minutes to complete. The magnets are is sturdy and thick with typical icons that represent each state. It's a quality learning tool for parents and teachers alike. Great for the classroom.

My students love putting this puzzle together. I like that not only does the box have the map on the front for them to look at and follow, but there is a paper outline that they can put on the floor and fit the pieces into. After they put it together they love to read the state names and talk about the states. Very nice for 1st graders. The pieces are big and durable. It is great that it is magnetic. If I had a magnetic board this would stay on it all the time, but since I don't, the paper outline is very helpful for putting the country together.
