Learning Resources Puzzle Globe 3D Puzzles, Earth Montessori Toys, Preschool Classroom Must Haves, Ages 3+

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A solid introductory first globe. Good size and colourful , easy to manage. A really useful learning tool.

This globe was definitely a hit with my 6 year old twin boys! The big draw for them was the puzzle aspect-all of the continents (aside from Antarctica) are removable, along with the names of each continent. They enjoyed taking all the pieces off and figuring out where each belonged. Each continent has a raised outline on the globe as well as a shape-coordinated (think shape sorter) connector to plug each continent into its spot. The included sheet of facts with landmark images was a nice bonus, and my kids were excited to find each image on the globe and learn something about it. They're at an age when they are little sponges and really love soaking up this kind of information. Now is the time when they're starting to realize they're part of a bigger picture, and this globe helps form that larger world view. It opened up questions and conversations about the equator, where people in our family came from across the world, and where certain animals that they've read about or seen in a zoo come from. I think it'll be a valuable learning tool we'll come back to again and again as they learn more in school. It definitely has a broad appeal--both for younger kids who are starting to learn their shapes and colors, to older ones who are beginning to learn basic geography. One of my boys even wants to bring the globe for his show-and-tell day. That's how awesome he thought it was! I received this product as part of an incentivized review program.

I love, love, love this Globe.... I cannot say enough good things about this Globe. The Globe is bright and colorful and easy for kids of all ages to use. It has just enough details to where kids would not get confused or overwhelmed by everything. Pieces are easy to take on and off and the Globe is a nice size especially for smaller kids. The only con I had is that the stickers on the continent start to lift up a little. You just have to rub them back down, no biggie. The nice thing is that the Globe is all assembles and ready to be played with right out of the box. I was able to get this Globe before my husband had to leave to go to the UK on business. It was perfect to show my son that daddy had to take an airplane to get to Europe and from there he was going to Ireland. I feel it made it a little easier for him to adjust to the change in home environment, knowing where daddy was. Plus this is helping him lean where we live and that there are many different types of people living all over the world. He also loves that fact that he knows where Disney is in Florida and that we take a plane to get there. He keeps going back to it and tells me; this is where daddy is, pointing to Europe. The stickers that are on the continents are colored to match the color or the continent. I did not realize this until my son was putting the puzzle pieces back on the Globe and he started to put the names correctly with the continent. I knew that there was no way he knew where each of these went perfectly until he said, "Mommy look they match", great idea Learning Resources. My mom stopped by our house and saw the Globe out on our table. She liked it so much that she is already getting Christmas ideas for some relatives. I'm so glad I was able to get this Globe.....

My 4 year old grandson thoroughly enjoyed this Puzzle Globe as it was a follow up to his learning about all of the continents at his preschool and even learning a delightful song, that I might add, he sang, while placing the continent puzzle pieces into the proper location. The globe is very colorful and inviting, and the pieces specifically fit into one spot on the globe making it easier to find the proper location until the child can locate the continent's location on his/her own. There are removable plastic label pieces for each continent name - providing a more challenging activity when you remove the labels and have older children label the continents on their own. Each continent has pictures of animals and places of interest belonging to that continent. The guide that accompanies this resource has interesting facts about each continent. This globe is a very fun way to introduce kids to geography, to learn the continent names, fun facts about each continent, and the location of all the continents on the globe. I know many adults that could benefit from playing with this globe! :0)

My 6 year old daughter adores this toy. It's a great way to help her get curious about the world and start to develop an early understanding of geographic concepts. We use it in conjunction with the blow up globe to go on mini-"adventures" around the world, talking about all the things there are to discover and places there are to go. It's a really easy way to encourage family time. As a parent, I love the quality of this toy. It's well-made, tough, and sturdy.

I received this product as part of the incentive review program. The box fell apart very easily but the way the puzzle is displayed in the box is visually appealing. The globe is fun and the continents are a great way to teach kids about geography. My son was bored with it after one use. I think it would be more fun if the pieces also had detachable animals and places as a way to make learning about the continents more interactive for him, versus the parents simply reading off of the included packaging.

I teach my children at home until kindergarten (and after in addition to their normal school days.). I enjoyed this product as a way to introduce continents. They can find the continent themselves, hold it in their hands, lable them, etc, but it is up to the adult working with the kids to provide knowledge about the areas. The globe itself is entertaining for the kids on short bursts only if an adult doesn't make a game out of it. (For example, a timed race to see how fast they can put the continents back on.). I love that they also provide addition label stickers so I can hand write the names of the continents in the same color and have my oldest find the right continents. They provide some nice facts about each continent which is a nice start, but this would not be for a parent/instructor looking for a longer independent activity. Well made product and I will be using it any time I introduce a new continent!

My three y/o son and our whole family really enjoyed playing with the globe. It's great fun pointing out the different countries. We also teach about all the different animal toys we have around the house and which countries or continent it comes from. I'm pretty happy the product is sturdy and my son can be rough with the toy.

I gave this to my 3 year old daughter(just turned 3 in the past few weeks). I think she is still a bit young for it, I helped her put the puzzle pieces in and showed he where we live and where we have been but did not hold her attention very long at all. I know we will use it in the future when she is a bit older, so for now it will be a bright and colorful decoration on the bookshelf and I will reintroduce in a few months. I would recommend this to friends/parents with kids a bit older.

Awful terrible product. They come with stickers your kids find and stick on, they dont have white backgrounds as shown - they are clear and they FALL OFF. The whole toy is not weighted, doesn't turn smoothly, its just cheap hollow plastic everything. Not even worth $5. Not as educational as you think, not, kid friendly, or parent friendly. Returned it.
