I received this free for review and I'm so glad! My daughter loves sorting the quills by color, counting, and making different patterns on the hedgehog's back. She is 2 and a half and I was worried she wouldn't find it interesting, but I feel like she's the perfect age for it.

We were given spike in exchange for an honest review, and immediately upon opening spike my son took an interest, he was quickly able to figure out how to hold the spikes and how to put them into the hedgehog, And as he's played with it more and more each day he's getting better at the fine motor skills necessary to properly place the spikes! I was actually surprised at how much he loved it, It keeps his interest, I feel part of that is that it's not too difficult for him so he doesn't get frustrated and give up.. it's the perfect amount of challenge to make it fun for him, And it gives him a sense of accomplishment when he gets all of the spikes in! He even carries around the house It's so cute 😆 It says 18 months and up, My son is 15 months old and he loves it! He's not quite ready for the more challenging aspects of it such as color coordinating and number placements.. But it's awesome it gives him a chance to grow into it!

My son is 2.5 years old and likes to play with the quills, taking them in and out of the back. There are more things you can work on other than just fine motor skills. You can work on counting, the slots for the quills are numbered as well. The activity guide gives you some great ideas like a memory game with the quills, asking the child where the eyes are, and even sorting the colors. The quills are able to be stored inside the back of the hedgehog.

My little daughter has not stopped playing with her spinpike since the first day it appeared in the mail, she is starting to learn numbers so this was a fallen gift from heaven. I never thought that something so simple would entertain her for so long, she takes care of it like a treasure. Thank you! The plastic is very resistant and very well made, you can use it to store the sticks inside, it is very practical.

I purchased this for my grand daughter to play with when visiting "grandma's house". I liked that it is an educational toy and a little different from some of the old standards. The pieces are large enough for ease of use by small hands. It is a simple toy that teaches good fine motor skills , colors counting and imagination.

I'm not going to lie. I thought this toy looked adorable yet a little boring. But I'm not a two-year-old. My daughter, an actual two-year-old, LOVED this toy. She was excited the second I took it out of the box and immediately started to play with it with no help at her table. The quills are simple for her to grasp and insert in the hedgehog's body. The hedgehog has storage to hold the quills, but she likes to leave them inserted on the top. While the toy as is was interesting enough for her, what I loved was the booklet that is included that lists different "games" you can play using the toy. This includes color games, counting games, and number games. While my daughter is just on the cusp of learning these things, I'm excited to utilize the toy for these activities in the future. We received this toy over two weeks ago, and she has played with it for at least a few minutes each day. With an active toddler's attention span, I call that a win! This tactile you allows the child to just place the quills in the holes, or to integrate numbers and colors with the task. It kept my 2 year old granddaughter occupied for a longer time than most toys. The quills all pack nicely inside the hedgehog for easy cleanup.

My 19-month-old enjoyed this toy right out of the box! The bright colors immediately caught his attention, and while he's a bit too young for the suggested learning activities, he had a great time just putting the quills in and taking them out. It's a great way to build fine motor skills and keep him engaged. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the quills are made of very thin, hollow plastic, and my son was able to bend them easily. A sturdier design would make this toy perfect.

We enjoyed playing with this educational toy in my house, it was perfect size for tiny hands to grasp and put the spikes in the hole. The colors were soft toned and not too bright. From parents point of view - loved that it was easy for cleanup and storage as all the spikes fit inside the shell .
