Not only is this game so much fun, but it is educational. Perfect for Kindergarden through at least 3rd grade.I am an educator and a Grandma of a 4 and 5 yr. old boys. they love the board that looks like a swamp (very colorful) and the cute monsters and creatures that are fun, but not scary. The dice are always fun to shake and roll, and have just + or - on the one dice and Numbers on the other two dice. The 4 yr. old is learning because the five yr old helps...just like a teacher. They are so proud when they get the right answer and get to move the critter game piece. Upto 4 can play and their choice of critters are so cute! It is not an overly long game, so no frustration from not being able to win for too long of a period. The game is well boxed with colorful pictures and strong cardboard so the box will last. This game is so impressive because it teaches in a way that the children think they are just playing. Holds their attention! It is one of the most innovative learning games I have seen in a long while. I feel it is a wonderful purchase for a gift or just to buy to help the, learn. Their teachers will be so happy and impressed with their increased interest in Math and their accelerated learning. LOVE THIS PRODUCT !!
Arrived quickly and as advertised
I got this game for my kindergartner to learn math, but my 7th grader also liked to play because it's so much fun! You get to choose your swamp player; between a snake, frog, snail, or turtle. You roll three dice and add or subtract your spots on the board, then there are short cuts and the endless loop that surprise you. You can also learn odd numbers and even numbers as you land on those squares. The whole family loves to play and teaches my youngest how to count. Great product!
excellent game , dynamic , easy, divertido.if there are minor children at home, put the game in high place , the pieces are small . the material is cardboard , but thick and strong. It is lightweight, children can carry with them in their backpack and play in the park , or while waiting in the doctor checkup
This is a fun educational game that my 1st grader is Loving playing with my husband and myself. It's good for practicing basic addition and subtraction (as dice are only 1-6). She is good at it and getting faster the more we play. Hopefully this will translate into a good basic math foundation. If nothing else we are having fun playing while she's learning. And the different spaces on the game board are really fun. You can get stuck in an endless loop that is hard to get out of and makes your opponents glade for the extra time to move a head on the board. There's also short cuts and spaces that make you move a head or backward. It's fun. My family is definitely enjoying it. And we recommend it:)
my son is 8 yrs old and realy does not math at school. so hope by playing a fun game, would get him more motivate for math. the game is fun. he has more fun play with 3 more people, for a total of 4 players. one on one is a little boreing for him. but when he plays with his freinds , he love s it....
This is such a cute game. It's just a fun way of learning adding and subtracting. While the children are playing they don't realize they are learning in the process! It's simple and even though it says 5+ for the age group, I had 3 and 4 year olds who love it! The game pieces are so cute, frog, turtle, snake, and snail in the swamp, that the children even fuss over who is getting which game piece. It is truly educational.
I took this to my son's school so the kids in the class could play it. I was excited to see how they would respond to it. They absolutely loved it. Not only did they 'play' the game, they were learning and refreshing what they recently learned. It was helping them with math all while having fun. They said they really enjoyed it and wanted to play it again. I allowed the teacher to use it a few days so that they could continue to learn while having fun. I would highly recommend this to anyone with kids or any and all teachers. A different and fun way to learn.
I like this game..the rules are simple, the board is colorful, and you can get thru it quickly. It is perfect for [in my opinion] grades from First thru 3rd..possibly 4th. It covers two math operations, adding and subtracting and the largest number the player has to deal with is six. You get a good work-out adding as well as subtracting (remember, the largest number is six), and the game is constructed in such a way that you could be rewarded, or punished, depending on what the "operation" is, i.e., adding or subtracting. For the grade group I mentioned above, it would be a very nice and fun way of practicing those operations. I got it for my grandson, who is now in 5th grade and he is too advanced for this game but..much to his chagrin, we played several games and he lost all of them--not because he can't add or subtract, but rather because he always seemed to have the wrong operations, e.g., he was waiting to move forward and he kept throwing hands like this: 3, 3 - which meant that his move consisted of subtracting 3-3 and his move was...zero! As I said, lots of fun, but more suited for the very elementary grades..
My two boys, age 7 and 11 played this together. My youngest is struggling with math but this game made learning fun. They were able to understand the rules with no instruction from me as this is very similar to other games. The adding and subtracting of different numbers and counting the squares all in the goal to win is a real hit. The dice are easy to read. I do suggest players if children should get along normally otherwise the competition gets in the way of learning and you may end up with a fight on your hands. My oldest girl, 15, tried playing with my youngest and she got very frustrated as her math level is far above this game and she wanted to win instead of helping her younger brother. But my two boys never new they were learning. If you have a child that is needs help with basic math I do recommend this game. I enjoyed playing with my youngest kid and he even kept me on my toes. You better brush up on your math skills, the kids learn faster than we do. Buy the game and have some quality time helping your child learn and have fun in the process.
