This is an great set with nice play features and excellent long term value. It features the Benatar ship as seen in the Avengers films and includes minifigures Thanos, Iron Man, Star-Lord and Gamora which are all exclusive to this set.
Though this set is meant to concur with the battle on titan, I actually attribute this set with the fight on no where as the benatar without the pod wasn't part of the titan battle. (Unless... utilizing hindsight, the set came with nebula instead of stark) Though this set does have some downsides it is by far the best set of the infinity war series along with the thors weapon quest. I may have been out of the lego game for a while/ignorant to previous lego sets - but I do feel that selling 2 sets that combine into one to make a cohesive product is an AMAZING feat for collectors and others. So really, BRAVO! on that. I was however disappointed that the full series ends up with 2 iron man minifigs. Leads me to believe that one should have been replaced with a different minifig (IE: this set - with a nebula instead - or a drax and then a mantis as well). And to be more complete, I think the other characters that aren't featured as minifigs, could have been released in polybags. So many of peoples faves were completely missing and absent from this set. Scarlet Witch being mine, but Nebula, Drax, Mantis, Winter Soldier, War Machine, Okoye, Loki, and Heimdall could have been dispersed throughout the sets and extra features to really build onto the massive entity of the film in the MCU. That being said, this set is top of the line and amazing for it's release and what you get, and it's closeness and accuracy to the film. Best feature - the combination with thors quest to complete the benatar, it really was brilliant to have the rest of in inexpensive as a marketing strategy for this set as well. Though, this really is the fundamental of the series and must get/need. As you get both Thanos, and the Gauntlet. I chose to more emphasize the characters in this set with one of the most emotional scenes of the movie that you actually can feel. When I do re-iterate my scenes, I am probably going to keep this scene as is and disperse the rest differently because of such. But the build, amazing. Stability, really well - I do find the connection at the top with the pod to be rather flimsy and touchy - to rectify such I decided to just start taking the roof off to begin it as that just makes it loads easier. The back end being flat in it's own though, does suggest that you should just keep the pod attached at all times as it really looks unfinished without it. I think that could have been fixed with some reverse flats on the closing door - but without any reference of what the back of the ship looked like in the film, it wouldn't have been accurate - but it at least would have been finished and more stand alone. Overall, this set is very VERY good for both the MCU fan, and the lego building addict :D
I really have to thank the other people who reviewed this set because they helped me decide on getting it. I already had Thor's Weapon Quest so them going together plus my completion of the Guardians of the Galaxy mini figures got me more excited. Iron Man is cool in this but it's not like I don't have plenty of him already. Thanos was a huge upgrade as the one I had already has a nice little happy smile and no infinity gauntlet. One of the complaints I read about was that the scooter's handles did not fit in the mini figure hands. I found a way that it does. You bring the hands down to the sides and also lower the handle and it fits right in. Maybe it's not the traditional way people were hoping for but it works and it's better than not at all. I really suggest getting this before it's too late.
Wow, this set is great! It has a lot of features not typically seen in other Lego sets. The Benatar is a great new spaceship that the Guardians of the Galaxy ride around in. The pod from the 76012 set combines with it and makes the ship more complete. It has a weird little scooter that pops out of the front of the ship. The Infinity Gauntlet can even be place in the rear cargo hold. Just all around very cool playable features. The minifigs are good, with Iron Man as the stand out figure. Iron Man has a brand new body print for Mark 50 and new face plate mold. He also has a neat jet booster pack that makes him look like a Gundam. Not too much to say about Gamora and Star-Lord. Gamora has a new body print, but that's about it. Star-Lord is the same as the last time we saw him in 76080. The Thanos bigfig is the same mold as in the 76049 set with a new print. It would have been cool to see him without his helmet and armor like in the trailers. The Infinity Gauntlet is a really cool feature. You can actually mount the tiny Infinity Stones to it, you just have to collect them all from the various sets. All-in-all a great set that will keep you entertained for a while.
I go this set mostly because of the exclusive Infinity Gauntlet Part and because I thought this was the best set to start with seeing that it comes with Thanos and the Gauntlet. I never got the second generation Miliano From Guardians Of The Galaxy 2, so this set was more desirable to me than some of the others. I'll start reviewing the set with pros and cons. Pros: 1)Good Hull Design That Gives A Futuristic Look to the Ship 2)Great Space Inside the vessel for additional minififures and cargo. 3)Stickers Well Done 4) Best attachment mechanisim I have ever expirienced with a Lego set Cons: 1) The Ramp folded up in the rear of the ship looks out of place when additional Pod set not attached. Lego has not officially released the Pod set yet as I am writing this review but for referance, Thor's Weapon Quest set can connect to the back of the main build and really completes the build. Minifigs: Iron Man: Great Fig The Boosters look really nice on display Gamora: Glad to get updated Gamora she looks better than her version in Guardians 2 Star Lord: Same version from Guardians 2, would've wanted updated version. Thanos: Really Disapointing as he looks nothing like what we see in the Infinity War trailer. All In All, This is a really good set if you want to update your version of the Miliano and looks even better with the Thor's Weapon Quest Pod attched. However, Thanos is the only bad aspect to the set and Thanos Ultimate Showdown is my second favorite set of the Infinity War Wave, Sanctum Sanctorum Showdown being my favorite.
Awesome set! I am a huge Guardians fan and really enjoyed Infinity War. This combines both those genres perfectly. Star Lord, Gamora, Iron man, and Thanos are wonderfully made lego versions of themselves. This set has lots little pieces and odd connective angles to form the Milano. Great for younger fans, but they will definitely need aid building this set. Also, it should be noted to completely your infinity gauntlet you need to purchase all the Avnegers: Infinity War lego sets. This one only has the reality stone (red). However, they do give you 4 gems to share with your friends (or replace lost pieces), which is a major plus!
This was a great set to build, it is a good size for a super hero's set. I especially like the fact that you can attach the Thor's weapon quest set:76102 to this set and my son was super excited when he collected all the stones to attach to thanos's glove.
We are very happy with the lego however my 6 year old son is very disappointed that his gauntlet only comes with one stone! The picture on the box made it look like all the stones were included. I am wondering if there is a way to obtain the missing stones without having to buy all the other sets? other wise we are happy with all the lego products!
This set is great, and on its own it looks ok... but you can tell it was designed to be combined with the Thor weapon quest set, as the back is very flat and looks incomplete. The figures though are fantastic and can't wait to finish the infinity gauntlet
This is my review on the Thanos: Ultimate Battle. I'll break it down into sections: The Minifigures-There are 4 figures in the set- Iron Man, Star-Lord, Gamora, and a big-fig Thanos. Iron Man is a very detailed figure, probably my favorite in the set. I love the HUB display for his alternate face. Star-Lord is the same from Ayesha's Revenge. Gamora is cool, just wish she had dual-molded legs. Thanos is okay, just a poorly executed figure. I wish he had a bald head. Grade: A- The Ship- The Guardians Ship is such a step up from the 2017 Milano. It's bigger than I expected. Love the interior detail and the space to put minifigures . My only complaint is that I don't like the removable speeder/cockpit. Just kind of a weird feature. Grade: A Iron Man's Jetpack- I like the build of the thrusters, but it's just too bulky. Grade: B+ Infinity Gauntlet/Stand- I love the look of the Gauntlet. It's an appropriate size-not too big, but not too small. The stand is cool. I wonder how it plays into the movie. Grade: A Well, that's that! Thanks for reading my review and have a good week!
