LEGO Classic Green Baseplate Supplement

Contrary to the many complaints about the Bright Green colour of this baseplate, I personally love the colour! Grasses do come in various shades of green, and it's not entirely unrealistic to have Bright Green grass. Moreover, the bright green provides a nice contrast to the regular green of the trees and plants when built upon it. Built on Regular Green baseplates and the trees and plants would tend to “disappear” as they would be of the same shade as the “grass”. This Bright Green baseplate, however, may not match with the regular Green baseplates and this seems to be the main gripe amongst fans who already have collected many baseplates in regular Green. Perhaps LEGO can produce green baseplates in both shades?

This baseplate is what I grew up with. Note that the bottom is flat and cannot build on top of other studs. I really don't mind how flexible it is because you're not building with it, just on top of it. This piece is ESSENTIAL for all Lego builders. And you can never get enough. BUT: Lego, please offer 2-packs (Blue and Green, White and Grey), and lower the price of the grey piece. Also I'm a fan of the Road baseplates but not the offering or the price. Listen to your customers and offer 2-packs of 2 straight, 2 curved, 2 T, and 2 4-way intersections. You have to understand that when you place two crosswalks beside each other they look stupid. Take a piece of paper and cut little squares then sketch out the current offerings to make a 6 to 8 baseplate design. It's crazy-expensive to buy them in these offerings and still make your city look organised. OR, do a 3-pack with 2 straight and 1 single 4-way, or do a 4-pack with 4 curves. Please play around with the offerings and tell me it's fair for Lego fans because I'll tell you, it'$ not. The occasional T-intersection is perfect for a firehall or a hospital, but having too many makes for a janky looking city and I refuse to buy the roads for this reason. Also they don't have enough studs on them to make them the same price as the regular baseplates. Add some connector pieces (A bench, anything) to increase the value and make some Lego fans happy. For a decorative piece (road vs 32x32 stud baseplate) it's not worth the money, but the baseplates could come in 2-packs and take off a dollar or two; you'll sell more of these.

Always go with official Lego plates. Perfect for making MILS plate or to build right on. Good value too.

I've tried cheaper versions of “brick plates” but LEGO is they way to go. Sturdy and takes a beating from a six year olds builds!

Found this when shopping for Lego's for my grandson, great idea, better than just building on the table or floor and everything sliding around. As he grows and builds larger Lego's we'll have to get larger ones too!

I had to buy a bunch of these to make a Lego table for my kids, and I was able to do it much cheaper than anywhere else. Can't go wrong with Lego quality!

This product is obviously a 32x32 baseplate in green. Just like similar ones, although note that there is a colour change. It has gone from being DK. GREEN to BR. GREEN in lego colour conventions. If you want a mach to your old green baseplates, then this will not be the same colour. However, if you want a different shade of green for different areas of grass, then this is fine. Product works exactly as it has done in the past. And no price change for UK.

This is not the original green color. The picture is deceiving and the product description does not mention this: these baseplates are BRIGHT green, not regular green. As such, they are completely useless for anyone with a large collection of green baseplates because they will stand out like a sore thumb. Increasing the price by 60% adds insult to injury. Lego, please go back to the original green and back the price down a notch.

I was not happy when i opened up this package. I am currently making my own Lego city, this new color doesn't match any of my existing pieces. These bright green plates will be returned. I really hope they go back to the original darker green, or at least sell them both so as not to ruin the overall look of blending older and newer sets.

First time I have ever been disappointed with a Lego product - in 30+ years. To echo what other reviewers have said: not only is the new fluo-like colour unsuitable for a grass type looking base, but it is a complete mismatch with the rest of my (our) collection(s), some dating back a few decades.... My oldest green plates (8x16 from the early 80s) match the green of the 32x32 I had bought only last year and, based on the shop's picture, this is what I was expecting this time around ... With the new green baseplates, my dio now looks like a mismatched patchwork. I hope Lego will come back on their decision and return to the old green production. Though the new colour brings variety, the older green should have never been discontinued, certainly not without giving some early warning for such a drastic change in colour practice for the green baseplate spanning decades of production .. Otherwise, I just love Lego bricks!! Cheers.
