My son is thoroughly enjoying this set. So far he has only built the roller coaster which is an incredibly designed set. We have both had so much fun with this set. The only negative thing I can say is the pillar with the skull arch is not very strong. You have to be careful putting it together or it explodes in your hand, likewise caution is needed to add the octopus to the pillar. Was a good challenging set for my 7 year old who built it by himself.
First thing i noticed i the shop was the weight. Its heavy! Me like! Me buy! This was the most fun Creator i´ve build so far. Took me 1hr to sort out up all pcs and then it was a joyride all the way. Now its time to motorize it. I have lots of parts so think it will do it. Not much for modding but this one woke up the kid in me. Recommend it! Greetings from Sweden.
I love it. Not long finished building this. I can't believe how smoothly the train runs on the track, it's brilliant. I really like this new track and I hope to see it more in the future........a Lego monorail set perhaps.....:D hint hint. I intend to add more legs to the octopus as it's super cute and I love orange. Plus I didn't realise that the train car is a shark :D genius. Well done Lego.
First off, let me say that I am so grateful that LEGO has made a rollercoaster of this scale, because the other Creator set they made is too expensive for me. This set is a great addition to any theme park, and looks cool on display. My favorite build is the main one of course, I love how they detailed the entire rollercoaster with a pirate theme, and how throughout the ride, there are oceanic elements, such as the octupus, the seabed, and the pirate-themed entrance, it's much more detailed than I thought it would be. However, to make the rollercoaster go, it does require you to move it yourself, which is a disappoint, but then it would have required power functions, thus making it more expensive. The second build (ship ride) is a lot of fun to play with, although it does look a bit plain IMO. Lastly, the skull ride doesn't work well at all, but it looks cool, so if you want another ride that looks good on display, the skull ride fits that build. The minifigures are all nice additions, especially the pirate. All in all, I'm very happy with this rollercoaster, and I think you will too!
This has a great Pirate theme with a handful of functions other than the Roller Coaster itself. A very attractive large pirate fort, pirate ship, and underwater creature. Very sturdy construction. Also since this is a 3-in-1 model, there are two other models that I can build once I get bored of this set, but that may happen in a year!
I bought this set for my sons fifth birthday after looking in my local Smyths shop. With all the similar sets that Lego produce this stood out, and it hasn't been a disappointment. My son managed to do around 90% of the build with me finding him the pieces and helping him along which was really enjoyable for us both. It took around four hours and the whole layout and design of the roller coaster is impressive. We have yet to build either of the alternative models but the set is worth it for the main build alone. Really impressed with it and my son absolutely loves it
This set is truly a masterpiece. I have never had so much fun building a set from the CREATOR 3-in-1 series! I wish I could afford the Creator Expert Roller Coaster, which I bought this set to hold me over in the meantime. I didn't have relatively high expectations for the design of this set as it seemed overpriced for its small size. But when the box came, it was HEAVY! (It's actually priced pretty well). The manual was thick, almost like one from the Expert series. Instead of three separate manuals for the three different designs, it was all packed into one booklet, which was nice. As I began building the main build, it really started to reveal the genius of the design. From the ticket window and turn style to the Spanish fort style of the coaster bay, this thing is so much fun, and just a real joy to see come together. Then the pirate/sea-themed track is revealed, and it's amazing. Shout out to the design of the wrecked pirate ship, skull pass-through, and the octopus that adorn the coaster track; just pure genius! Finally, the actual train of the coaster is a real hidden gem, that I didn't pay enough attention to from the online pictures. All three train carts come together as a shark! Honestly, this set is just incredible. Fun, cute, and I'll say it one more time, GENIUS. I recommend getting more than one of this set, and I can't wait to build the other two designs!
This set is totally worth the money because not only it has three builds, the main build is a roller coaster. I never expected it to take that much area and turned out bigger than expected. Why four stars? The build can be flimsy especially when I tried to attach the orange octopus on the pillar. You also need to push a bit from the skull head so that the cars don't stop before going to the dip. I also wish the alternate builds used up more bricks. There's also one brick that was warped (see picture). I'm looking forward for my next purchase this Christmas, it's grand daddy, the creator expert roller coaster.
I really liked this set! I originally was going to save up to buy the huge roller coaster, but I liked how this one could be made into 3 different builds. I was a little dissapointed with how many pieces I had left over when I built the 2 smaller builds, for the money it would have been nice if they could have included more pieces and more building time into all 3 instead of the main one. The cars stayed on the tracks well which was nice, but I found the back and forth ship build to break pretty easily. Overall it was a great set, and I'm glad I made the purchase!
I got this set for my kids, my son started to build it but it was definitely above his age (he's 6) because he made a few mistakes since the instructions are not that clear on some pages, because of the angle. Not a big deal, I helped him and this set is for 9 years and up. Overall, the set has a lot of great details, is very sturdy (at least the main build) and once the pieces were sorted out, not that long to build. It is disappointing that you need to push the train from the top before it goes down the track, so you cannot just give it one push and see it go until the end, you have to push it through the skull, and once again in the curve. Another element that could have been better designed is the water "splash" at the bottom of the slope, there is a piece that is supposed to be hit by the train and make the water "splash", but in reality it barely moves.
