[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Harry Potter, Fluffy Encounter is absolutely brilliant! I got this set for my daughter's 11th birthday and she had lots of fun building it and putting it together, she was especially happy with the golden special edition of Hermione - she was the 1st one build! Good few hours of fun for her and her dad... I had a go too. Instructions are fairly easy to follow but my 11 years old was getting mixed up with the darker brown coloured blocks as in the book these were just a bit to dark and hard to identify other than that all fantastic, we'll be getting more of the Harry Potter lego Collection - for sure!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have loved Lego since I was a child and nothing has changed. I bought this to do with young children as it was not as complicated as other sets, but I think I enjoyed it more than the kids. My only negative is that Lego has become very expensive over the years, but I do this it is absolutely amazing and I also love Harry Potter so it was definitely a great product in my eyes.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Fluffy is great. The candle peices are could be different and there's no room for Harp. Overall had fun building it. Lol it was a challenge to find a place for him in Hogwarts. He's supposed to be on the 3 floor. The devil s snare peice is a bottom basement. So I place him beside the Great Hall. Also I don't have a troll.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for my 7 year old son who loves Lego and Harry Potter. It kept him quiet building it for 4 hours. After building it, he hasn't stopped playing with it. It's brilliant for imaginative play and has a lot of detail to it. A really fantastic lego set and I would highly recommend it!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great fun and amazing quality. Made it the very next day after I received it. It was not very hard to make. The instructions were very easy and easy to follow. Highly recommended. Must try for great fun.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This harry potter hogwarts fluffy encounter is amazing with 397 pieces it provides you with a product that is sure to keep you engaged and entertained for hours whilst trying to build it and also once completed. Its great for harry potter loving fans like my kids who is obsessed with anything harry potter and keep them occupied for hours on end. They love showing their friends and even taking it apart and letting others get creative, using there imagination and skills to create a masterpiece sure to leave the kids and even the adults happy. It's suitable for a variety of age ranges and is bound to impress, amaze and entain everyone. Meaning it's perfect for the whole family to enjoy. Great value for money and worth it to see the finished masterpiece. Would highly recommend this to anyone with kids looking to engage the brains and keep them occupied perfect during the summer holidays.
I'm really happy to see so many old moments revisited in this new line. It was very nostalgic to re-create iconic scenes from the first Harry Potter installment. I'll try to touch open my interpretation of the problems other people have had. 1. Stickers. I've read about struggles with sticker 5 inside of the big green cone piece, but it worked fine for me. Trick: start in the middle, then smooth out to the edges. 2. Also stickers: both stickers 4 and 5 are indicated as "5" on the instructions. Minor issue. 3. I've read complaints about how Harry, Ron, and Hermione are wearing robes instead of their sweaters from when they go down the trapdoor. However, when they first meet Fluffy in the movie, they are wearing robes. And yes, I know the harp indicates this set represents the later Fluffy Encounter, but I can trade out my minifigures from the Chess Set for that scene. 4. I was glad to build Fluffy, I like seeing how animals can be made from Lego pieces, even if the grey technic pieces show. 5. Colours! I'm glad to see the old colours of "brick yellow" and "sand green." It takes me back to the first ever wave. 6. There is a lot in this set that just reminds me of the book, more so than of the movie. I mean, just because the scene looks a certain way for the films does not mean every product has to match, and I'm glad to see some creativity to reflect fresh interpretations. (Why *not* have a tower with some odd potion bottles? I thought it was a cute touch.) 7. It's just a little weird that when you line up the side tower horizontally under the trapdoor, you are left with the extra tower roof. I wish there was maybe another room that it could cover. 8. The candles!! Step 40. The flames will not stay put!! They are too thick for the knobs to reach the hole in the inverted 1x1 circle piece. Sure, I can make them balance, but I expected the satisfying "click" of two pieces being firmly put together. All in all, a good representation of the first Harry Potter (book and movie), but not without flaws.
Overall very good set, fun to build. Cost effective way to get the golden trio in their full hogwarts robes. However, this set is meant to represent the final third of the film. The trio are in normal clothes during that whole sequence. There is just a little inaccuracy with the minifigs which could be easily corrected since the normal clothes versions of the trio already exist in the Wizard Chess set so it just seems like Lego has locked these unique versions of the trio behind a more expensive set so if you want them the Wizard Chess set is the only way to get them, but they should be in this set too. However I cannot see any other sets that include these fully robed versions of the trio so I can see why they may have made this decision.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love everything Harry Potter and have some of the old lego sets. These new ones don't disappoint. Obviously you get the great quality of lego so all the bits fit really well. You also get great attention to detail from a HP fans point of view. The different sets can all be put together to create the Harry Potter world. With this set you get part of Hogwarts and an interactive whomping willow. You can spin the ford anglia out of the tree and give Harry and Ron a scary ride. What's not to like. Great fun and any fans old or young will love it.
My 9 yr. old daughter bought this set with her Christmas money. She wanted a smaller set that looked like the castle, had the three main characters, was not hard to build and she could play with and understand the scene as she has only read the first two books. She did struggle a little bit with building Fluffy the three headed dog but did well other than that. I was a little disappointed in the end when she tried to play with it. Fluffy hardly fits in the room that is designed for him. her first comment was "I cant get fluffy in the room" and then when i helped her get the dog in she was upset because there was no room for the characters to go down the trapdoor. I was also a little disappointed that you kind of need another set if you want to have the kids drop into the trapdoor or the spire is all on its own. Over all she is still happy with it, we just wish it had a little more playability with it.
