I absolutely love this set, so fun to build and a great display piece. The suspension and the design is terrific I would definitely recommend this set

As soon as I saw this model I knew I needed it my collection. Yes it is expensive but it is pretty good value for money. The build especially the suspension is complicated but great results. As others have mentioned the air intake is missed in the instructions but it is 2 pieces and you can see it on the photos. I live that there are so many options and pieces that you can kind of mix and match and do your own thing. The bad, Tow hook and exhaust kept falling off during build. Just take them off and put them on at the end. Due to the suspension the steering is pretty sloppy compared to other Icons models but not a huge issue. Overall excellent (for mine I redesigned the snorkel, cleaned up the back and flipped the wheels around)

Really enjoyed this build the blend of Technic to normal Lego works well for me. The roof rack was a bit of a pain to get in place correctly as it's not very rigid. The windscreen is applied way too early in the build and just got in the way and kept falling off whilst doing other things; I also don't like the way the front of the roof joins to the windscreen took me a while to get it to sit right. Apart from the negatives above this has been one of my favourite builds in a long time and the detail is amazing. I'm not a Land Rover Fanboy, but the timing was very close to the book and TV show, the Last Overland, which sparked my interest in this model. I know this is not the 1955 Series 1 Model, but I do wonder if Oxford and Cambridge are famous enough for some future models models based on their exploits in the First Overland and Oxford's in the Last Overland.

This is an awesome kit. As a Land Rover owner and Lego fan, I couldn't ask for more. Took me a whole day to build and I enjoyed every minute of it. I built it as the kitted out version, but without the tools attached, now I need to buy another to build as standard version.

I have been building Lego Land Rovers for many years and was really pleased to see this set. I love all the accessories and options. I don't like the mixture of features from Land Rovers of different years but I can see why this was done. Have a look at the photos for the 110 option.

In the last few months I have built a few technics vehicles, and perhaps naively thought that the Land Rover would be similar- well, put simply, it's not really. The Land Rover is made up mostly of LEGO, there are technics sections (chassis, steering, outer parts of the body etc), but the rest is normal LEGO. I enjoyed the build, it wasn't as long as I expected; the first few bags take a while, but after that it's pretty quick. I haven't got a clue why the accessories are in bag 1, they sat on my desk for a few days waiting for the rest of the build to complete so I could place/attach them. being Lego (rather than technics) makes it less fiddly and slightly more intuitive however the end result isn't as stable (I knocked various pieces off several times during build) so less easy to play with. I don't usually track how long it takes to build but I did it quicker than expected, I'm guessing no more than 6-7 hrs of build. Because there are options on build towards the end you'll end up with spare parts, more than you might expect (if you put the winch on there is nowhere to place the front number plate; they give you 2 rear number plates as well, there are 2 engines)., so be prepared to store. I liked the outcome, it looks good, I didn't spot any Easter eggs.

I had been looking forward to this model since rumours first emerged in October 2022, but must admit I was a little disappointed when the first images emerged shortly before release. While the model looks good with all the extras fitted, the base model doesn't quite capture the rugged character of the work-a-day Land Rover that I remember and this is what I wanted to try and capture. Therefore I set about making a few modifications, particularly to the windscreen, wing mirrors and wheels, and added extra features such as mud guards. I'm now reasonably happy with the result and think it better captures that iconic Land Rover look. All the accessories can still be fitted with a little modification. In summary a good model with lots of build options, but I feel the base model could have been much better.

I was quite disappointed with the size of this product given the cost, however it's a good build. Not anywhere near as exciting or intricate as the previous landy, but this isn't a Technic model I guess. Some parts are very fiddly, the instructions aren't quite clear on some drawings making it frustrating. Overall happy, but don't think it justifies the hefty price tag unfortunately.

The set looks great when built (i opted for the full offroad version) with some great touches but the finished set is a little flimsy, the bullbar on the front easily falls off as its only pushed onto 8 studs so as a winch it is useless. The front wheels and steering is very flimsy and loose feeling thanks to the design. The fire extinguisher on the back ALWAYS falls off and it and the rear wheel on the door make opening the back door practically impossible, a similar problem with the bonnet. This is the first set ive received with a manufacturing defective part (it was squashed) meaning ive had to borrow a piece from my spares while i wait for a replacement from lego, clearly quality is dropping while the prices go up as ive seen many reddit posts about this too. The engines are well designed and the look is nice though so overall a good set

This set looks very impressive on the shelf, and is an amazing likeness of a classic defender down to some great details. The interior touches are particularly nice. I found the instructions were often hard to follow as the added parts weren't always pictured clearly. I had one bag where I got the wrong part, a four stud instead of a three, however this is not noticeable on the finished product so I got lucky there. One thing I did find, that I'm surprised no one commented on in other reviews, was that there is a certain amount of structural weakness straight across the middle of the model. By design, the roof doesn't connect with the windscreen and then because the doors are straight below this you have a point where the integrity of the whole thing runs through a relatively thin piece of floor just behind the seats. Not a biggie I just found it odd. There's also about 90 degrees of dead zone in the steering which feels a bit poorly designed. I probably sound like I'm having a real whinge but I actually really love the model it just has a couple of quirks- just like the real thing I suppose!
