I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. I love everything about LEGO, and the advent calendar is a fun "pre-Christmas" toy to open up. The characters are very recognizable and favorites from the movie. I love that "Groot" is the Christmas tree. Some days have simple builds that are only about 4 pieces, and other days have sets with 10 - 15 to build. I like that they've used eco-friendly packagings (apart from the small plastic bags for each day's set).

This is my first Lego Advent Calendar product and I had a thoroughly enjoyable time going through the little compartments and building (most of) the contents. If not for the quite high MSRP, I would recommend this wholeheartedly to any Lego fan regardless of age. As it stands, the most I can say is TRY to save some money by finding this on sale and THEN it will be a good, fun buy. Also: the minifigure selection is *chef's kiss* perfection! The new Teen Groot print is absolutely beautiful and full of detail, and the holiday sweater characters are a hit as always. The "rocket sleigh" model which is spread across 3 different calendar days (4 if you consider the Rocket minifig part of it -- and 5 or 6 days if you count Rocket's blaster plus the turkey he cooks with it!) is an absolutely incredible idea for connecting these small, spread-out builds into a larger, more meaningful play experience. When I imagined the joy and anticipation a child would feel from opening 5 or 6 different days worth of builds, spread gradually through the month, and FINALLY after a few weeks being able to piece together the entire sleigh model, it made me want to pick up another of these sets for my own child to enjoy this holiday season. Unfortunately he is still too young, but it's definitely something I'll remember for the future!

Re Jane's review on December 19th - it looks like I got your turkey :) I had two Day 23's. I didn't get the candy cane on Day 15. I don't want it badly enough to sort through 172 pieces on the missing pieces website. I enjoyed the set but someone at Lego really needs to look into why so many of us are getting mixed up sets.

Been a Lego fan for an age and so are my young grandchildren. Have bought several Advent Calendars for the grandchildren over the years usually City or Star Wars but decided to treat myself this year to this one. The figures were fine and unlike others everything was there and not mixed up but build experience/value for money was totally rubbish. Most builds were just boring and consisted of printed blocks and/or a stack. In comparison to what my grand kids got in their Star Wars advent calendars (which both they and I were very pleased with) I was very disappointed in the content of this version. In the end I lost interest in doing it every day and left it until Christmas Eve to find out what the rest were. I can only say glad that it wasn't them that received this version and certainly not a version I will be looking at again.

I've bought the Star Wars/City/Harry Potter advent calendars for a number of years. Thought for a change would find something different. What a mistake. Whilst the characters are great and true to the series. The mini builds were just boring and totally uninspiring, not really having a clue as to where or what these fitted into generally. At least with other calendars there is a consistent and generally thought out build process. No issues with wrong packs behind different doors like others have experienced, but this was a complete letdown. Will go back to the others next year. Disappointing Lego!

Unlike seemingly everyone else, I got the right sets for the right days but other than the minifigs, nearly all of the sets are filler - and many of them are genuinely difficult to figure out what they're supposed to be. Will be moving back to the Star Wars advent calendar next year.

So disappointed with this advent calendar. My daughter is a huge Guardians of the Galaxy fan and was so excited to get this. Throughout the month of opening doors, we found some bags mixed up and in the wrong places. And then on the 24th, the last door, she opened it to find a picture of Drax. Well that excitement turned to tears when she found two bags of repeat doors inside (a tree and a candy cane), and no Drax. I took the whole box apart thinking it might've slipped somewhere but no. If you're going to put out an advent calendar for that price, you really should make sure the correct pieces are in the correct doors AND all shown characters are there. Highly dissatisfied with this product.
