This is what I think of the LEGO set shopping street number 60306. I think that it is a very great set with the road plates and all of the other buildings but what really is cool is that if you have set number 31097 The townhouse pet shop and cafe since you can connect it together with the road plates. If you also have Sesame Street set you can also take a piece out of and connect that as well to your city. I am very excited to get more road plate sets to connect. As you can see I have also added some of my creations to this city as well. I have also added other LEGO sets to this city as well as my creations. I hope you have as much of a fun time building this set as I had building it. Don't forget to keep adding on to any one of the road plate sets.
Lots of good pieces and colors in this set, with new Lego system road plates and 2 nice vehicles to include in anyones custom city!
Easy to build. Great value a city starter set, even has a cool cycle lane.
Awesome Lego City set. My grandson loves it
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son(and myself) always enjoy building lego sets together. This set added to the sets we've built together. It came with a lot of pieces, and many small ones. The directions are straightforward and easy to follow along with. For an adult, this set is mildly challenging. It was a bit more of a challenge for my 9 year old son to put together, but overall he had a blast doing it. This set comes with multiple minifigures and two vehicles to build. There are a couple small buildings that populate the street. The street panel is good quality and even includes a crosswalk design. I do wish the buildings were bigger, but other than that, the set is great. As always, lego puts out good quality products and this one didn't disappoint. I look forward to getting more sets to add the the collection.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really loved the Shopping Street by LEGO. My daughters ages 12 and 9 have legos but never a set like this one. They've had simple sets and just packages of assortment of legos. This set is really detailed. Right down to the stripe on the car to the crosswalk the road plates, to the glow in the dark street lights and so on. It comes with 533 pieces. I know the age it suggest is 6+, that age is good but i would also advise having an adult help them with the set up. Just because of the amount of pieces. The city has connectors that can be connected to other lego sets. That way you can make a great big setup. I think some parents will love this as much as the kids do. It took a few hours to get it all set up. It also has realistic features of the people, cars and foods. This will provide hours of imaginary play for my girls.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This set is pretty cool. I have 3 kids who love Legos. From 10 to 14. Boys and a girl. This took the three of them less than an hour to build together. They like how it all connects with the street so it is a town, instead of randomly placed parts. The number of characters included and vehicles. Multiple shops in the set. Can add on with other sets. They weren't sure why there was animal poo without an animal? Think it would be better with an animal included. The buildings and road would disconnect easily, could need more support under the roads. Overall, a nice set for all ages with lots of accessories and hours of fun.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for my almost 6 year old son. He unfortunately got really impatient and decided to open all the bags and use the legos to make his own builds. Once they were all out of the bags, it makes it kinda impossible to continue the build since there are so many Legos to sort through. Maybe the 6+ recommendation is for a little bit older kids or kids with really good patience.
Purchased this to introduce my son to Lego city (he's ready to graduate from Duplo). He picked the set, I wouldn't have purchased it if I was choosing because it looked pretty poor… but he was excited by having a street and some cars to play with. The build was fun and interesting, but only because it took ages due to my son's limited motor skills at this stage. Even a child with minimal ability at the lower end of the recommended range, would complete this set very quickly. In terms of play, this is a good set because there's lots of opportunities to role play and plenty of different components to take control of. But value for money is shocking. The vehicles are decent. The small details are good. But the buildings themselves are shockingly shallow. And those road base plates…. Come on Lego. These are shocking. What was wrong with the old ones? Oh wait. Too expensive/complex to produce I guess. Modular components are always going to be cheaper. I get the modular nature allows more customisation, but the beauty of the old plates, is they are so much more versatile due them being an plate and not another block of plastic with very little Lego connectors/studs. Please; please stop with these. Don't buy this set. Get a few City vehicles (these are nearly always great) and look at the buildings from the Creator line of Lego products. Lego, if you're serious about allowing children to create a cityscape, then provide some actual buildings beyond the police and fire stations. There's really no need to keep reinventing these every other year. Provide some shops and houses.
What has happened to city??? These buildings barely count as buildings, so thin and half the set is taken up with the street plates. Please go back to having city as actual buildings and if people want to get the ugly street plates they can buy them separately. I'm guessing no one did though which is why all the city sets now get filled with them at the expense of actual buildings.
