This is my ever first Tie Fighter I have ever bought. Price point is great and the build is fun and enjoyable. I am a big fan of the imperial starships and this is a must have to my collection since I just started to collect Lego Star Wars with my son. The play is very enjoyable and it's really sturdy. The build is not as difficult as I thought and I highly recommend this to anyone who doesn't own a Tie Fighter to get one. From what I have seen online all the other set costs way over $100 and for this to be under $70 is pretty good deal.
With a couple extra pieces easily made a tie outlander!!!

Impressive quality and detail for a playset model! Sturdy build, decent regard to proportions and beautiful display item for a fair price. Having 3 minifigures is a nice touch, and it's nice to see an Imperial model still running.
This set had me running to the LEGO store as soon as it released. In my opinion it's one of the best TIE fighters LEGO has released outside of the UCS range. It's also one of the sets that's been modified the most into other versions of the TIE series of ships. The scale is great when you line it up alongside the play scale Millennium Falcon for example, all the previous TIEs looked too big. The build was straightforward and makes for a strong model when finally assembled, the wings won't fall off during play which is great for kids who want to swoosh this one around. I really enjoyed putting this one together. Mini figure selection is pretty good for the price, pilot (as expected), Stormtrooper and an Imperial Protocol Droid NI-L8. Now the really good point that made me buy another one. You can easily and pretty inexpensively turn this into a TIE Interceptor! Once I saw this from a LEGO fan on YouTube I had to do it, so off I trotted to the LEGO store once again for a second TIE. I've sung the praises of this one to friend on FB who collect Star Wars LEGO and it will remain a firm favourite in my collection.
Great set. I would however look on YouTube and see all the designs you can build with this set alone. It's really cool. In my photos (middle shelf on the one photo) are just some of the different tie fighters you can build. Enjoy exploring the possibilities
Big fan of Star Wars Lego and struggle to keep my kids from playing with MY Lego 😁! But one query that puzzles me with this set: the NI-L8 Protocol Droid (that I'm sure is also the RA-7 droid from the Death Star). I know the description says it's included to promote play, but is there any actual link with this character to the Tie-fighter? Not a big thing and I certainly don't lose sleep over it, just interested.
Amazing except I ended up destroying the wings to make it into a cooler ship and made a stand for it

A less expensive tie fighter that Lego did extremely well. Compare to the larger variants scaling whilst there prop and cons for each this new tie fighter is easily the best set that has captured the spherical shape of tie fighter that is iconic to its look. All though there isn't much room in this model for a detailed cockpit I do appreciate the small details that are accurate to the source material. Very impressive for this price point. The cockpit is a tad too big for the model in terms of accuracy. The front shield cockpit piece is the same size you'd find on the first order and striker tie fighters maybe a smaller shield could have been used. The dark grey and light grey ball joints are just not right ugly and not aesthetically pleasing for what else is an amazing set… but I understand Lego philosophy hear having both the cup and ball in different colours makes them easily distinguishable. Mini figures are quality nothing more the high standards we expect from Lego. Big isn't always better Recommend it ? Absolutely.
