LEGO tbd Super Mario 71408

We were worried that the throne room would not work properly, as we've read the reviews before the purchase. We gave it a go anyway, and we are very happy that everything works fine, the mechanism works smoothly with no problem, which was a big relief. Our son is super excited playing with this set.

I really love that the directions are digital and easily accessible on my phone. It is much nicer than having to flip through paper instructions. There are a lot of pieces but the labeled bags and easily read directions are making the building process super simple. This is definitely a fun bonding experience with my family and gives us time to do something together and also be able to talk and enjoy each other's company.

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. This Super Mario Lego set so so cool and fun to build. The characters look just like the video game versions. The pieces come in numbered bags which makes it easy to find the pieces you need when assembling.

I enjoyed building this set with my two sons. We already had a few of the other sets and had Princess Peach - but still surprised to see that she does not come with her own castle. The Bowser character doesn't seem to stay together well, and his head breaks off easily. I also would love to see the paper instructions included in the set and the online version as an option. Overall, it's a great set for the price with all the different features.

There is no Mario mini figure in this set but there are other interesting characters included such as Bowser an Toadette. Price wise, it is a bit overpriced since it is an expansion set

Sooooo disappointing. I'm extremely surprised that the throne room is so terribly designed. It will NOT stay together. Extremely flimsy and difficult to then try to reconstruct. So flimsy it even breaks while constructing. Angry

As many other reviews stated, the rotating mechanism is awful on this build. I kept trying to go back and see if I did something wrong. After a lot time reassembling and troubleshooting based on the instructions, and getting very frustrated to find the problem never got better, I started trying to figure out my own way to fix it. I ended up adding 3 pieces to the bottom of the purple square piece that the throne part rests on, and it seems to have fixed the issue! In fact, it now runs so smoothly and neatly and fits better into the space, that I can't believe this isn't how it was meant to be built in the first place. It has not come off track since making this adjustment. I am attaching pictures in hopes I can help some others have a better experience with this build! As a fan of Mario and LEGO I think this is a fun set, but I was extremely frustrated and disappointed considering what was paid for this set to encounter this kind of problem, as it was also my first time investing so much into a set and I had really hesitated to do so in the first place. But I hope my pictures showing the added 3 pieces can help anyone else who has the extra pieces lying around!

For a hobby that doesn't and isn't supposed to require electricity and staring at a screen, I don't understand why the booklet to build isn't included. Please revise this decision. That said after having to find cables and chargers for an old iPad to download the app and dealing with a frustrated autistic person. We did feel that perhaps this was helpful given her disabilities. Both options would be good.

We bought this set for our child for Christmas in 2022. We've found he rarely plays with it, mainly because it's difficult to play with bowser without him crumbling and constantly needing to be rebuilt. Several of the other items in this set are similiar. Overall the set looks nice and the revolving throne is cool as long as you can build it correctly, but we found this set frustrating and wouldn't recommend it.
