Bought this little window unit to cool a 12’ X 60’ storage building / work shop. Framed out a spot in the wall, foamed around it and turned it on. The building has closed cell spray foam (2-3” thick) inside the studs and on the ceiling. Way too much space for this little unit but figured with the added RF factor it would be ok. It has been great. Cools that little building down quick without running all day. Had to play around with the switch to get the temp I wanted (no thermostat setting) but once I kinda new where 73F was, I just left it alone. As a caveat, I live in Texas where heat and humidity are a nine month problem. One thing I didn’t think about was that this is not a heat pump too. No heat in this unit, only AC.
The unit arrived several days prior to expected date. I installed the air conditioner in about an hour and as I am writing this, it is cooling the 4 season porch where I am sitting. Quality is good. I had originally ordered a Midea 5000 BTU from another vendor and it arrived DOA This unit is much better quality than the Midea. The side curtains on this unit form a much better seal than the competitor. Assuming that the reliability is good, I am a satisfied customer.
This no fuss-no muss air conditioner is a gem. It does not have the frills like a remote control or timer but it blows cold air and was surprisingly easy to install. I would recommend it to anyone who has a more than one unit and is trying to get circulation. Thank you Walmart, We're Cool!
Quiet! It is just what we needed living in South Texas. Our previous 5000 btu couldn't keep it cool even on high. We have never had this 6000 btu unit on high yet even though its been over 100 out. We live in a travel trailer. It fit perfect in the kitchen window.
It is Great, However the description is wrong!! After installation, we went to get the remote control, and we discovered that it doesn't actually come with one as stated in the description. We already drilled and set it up, so I'm not undoing that!! there is no way to control the temperature, so we guess it will be continuously, which is something we thought we would have control over. But does it cool, absolutely 💯. So, there is a small disappointment in that sense. If you want remote control, then dont get it. If you want cold air, then it delivers!
This unit is great for small spaces. A Bedroom or small living room it would cover nicely. Not for larger areas though. But it works great and does the job.
I would have liked a stronger AC but my window is only 20inches so 5000 BTU is what I bought and it does great. I use it daily and would buy it again
Never again will I buy from this vendor. I understand the 30 days return but I asked for an exchange because it arrived damaged and vendor will not offer an exchange. I would have kept it but I plugged it in and the AC does not get cold.
We already took it back to store after 3 weeks it didn't cool down are small apartment living room and the red filter light came on the filter was not dirty and it would blink. It just didn't get cold.
Don't buy this window AC; it's a piece of junk and doesn't work properly. I ordered two of them, and it says they cover 150 square feet. My bedroom is 120 square feet, and it still doesn't work. I put it on the highest setting, and it still doesn't work. It's been two months since I ordered them, and I called Walmart customer care, but they wouldn't take them back. Please be careful before you order. Thanks.
