[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently upgraded to the 83” LG OLED evo AI G5 4K Smart TV (2025 model), and I have to say, it's been an incredible experience. The picture quality is absolutely breathtaking – deep blacks, vivid colors, and incredible clarity that makes everything from movies to gaming look cinematic. The AI enhancements really shine when it comes to upscaling and optimizing content automatically. The design is sleek and modern, and the sound quality is surprisingly powerful even without a soundbar. The smart features are fast and intuitive, and I especially love the built-in streaming apps and how smoothly everything runs. One of my favorite things is the calm, ambient screensaver – it adds a really peaceful vibe to the room when the TV is idle. That said, there are a couple of small annoyances. The cursor on the remote can feel a bit fiddly and overly sensitive – sometimes I just want to navigate with regular buttons without the cursor jumping around. Also, while the calm screensaver is beautiful, it's slightly annoying that I have to press the power button twice to fully turn off the TV. Once puts it into screensaver mode, and then I have to press again to shut it down completely. Still, those are minor issues compared to how amazing the overall experience is. If you're looking for a premium large-screen TV that delivers on all fronts – picture, sound, and smart functionality – this LG OLED is worth every cent!

The sound is surprisingly full and immersive for a TV this slim, so we didn't even feel the need to add a soundbar. The flush-to-wall design looks sleek and modern, like a piece of art in the living room. Setting up streaming apps and connecting our devices was seamless, with plenty of HDMI ports and fast performance. Plus, it's great to know it's energy-efficient for a 77-inch screen. Its standout features include perfect blacks, vibrant and accurate colours, and impressive AI-driven upscaling and picture enhancements. The built-in speakers are decent, and the AI Sound Pro helps enhance clarity, though serious users may want a dedicated sound system (I do not currently have one). The webOS platform is smooth and user-friendly, supported by the intuitive Magic Remote and voice assistants like Google and Alexa. Design-wise, it's sleek with ultra-thin bezels, but the sheer size makes setup a two-person job (thanks to the delivery/installation guys, great job). While it's expensive and may struggle slightly in very bright rooms, it excels in typical home theatre environments. Burn-in risk is minimal thanks to LG's improvements. The TV Energy Star Rating is a great 5 out of 6 stars. I'm incredibly impressed with this TV. It delivers on its promises of amazing picture quality, a great smart TV experience, and top-notch gaming performance. If you're in the market for a massive, premium TV and you want the best that OLED has to offer right now, the G5 is definitely a contender. It's a TV that will make you want to rewatch all your favourite movies and games just to see them on this screen.

TV has never looked this good, it's safe to say I've been missing out until now. The colours, omg the colours so vibrant, and let's not forget the blacks turns out I've been thinking that grey is black. The included air remote is great, super easy to use and has easy access to all the major streaming apps. The LG webos software is fantastic as well a step up from other TVs that's for sure.

The AI function also assists with whatever picture and sound preference you like. Sound-wise, it's good and also enhances it if you set it to Cinema mode. Connectivity-wise, the Game optimiser makes PS5 games run smoother. Screen is very thin and has a simple stand which is a plus.

I'm at a loss for words about the build quality. This TV absolutely blew away my older, still functional, S****** TV. I happily traded it in for a few hundred bucks. The included stand is also great, made of solid aluminium and matching the TV frame. Cable management is a godsend too – no more dangling cables for my cats to chew on. The remote is a game changer. I get that some people hate it, but personally, the pointer is such a great addition way to navigate the menu. If you're looking for a reasonably priced OLED TV with a nice size and vibrant colours, without the annoying glare in your bright Aussie lounge room, look no further. You've found it.

Bought the 83" G5 in June 2025. I'm extremely satisfied with the picture quality, ease of use, motion handling and look and feel of the TV itself. Unfortunately, it's brought down by the remote control. Physically the remote feels less premium and comfortable to hold compared to my previous TV (LG B8). Worse still, the scroll wheel/main select button has just snapped and fallen into the remote making the remote unusable. Not acceptable for an 8 month old device.
