I love this Gravy but recently you have raised the Price twice it was 1.68 been that for a long time then you raised it to 1.78 I thought ok a dime more, not too bad but now its gone up to 1.97 a can and thats happenned in pretty quick succession when will the price increase stop,This seems to be a patteren i've noticed once I start buying an item a number of times the price starts going up and up and up to the point items i used to buy from you I no longer buy i'm not gonna keep paying increasing prices on items even though I like the item then guess what happens you start selling less %26 less of that item which means your losing money on that item I want people to be successful but at same time I dont want to be taken advantage of and as I've said this is not the only product you've done this on and it needs to stop otherwise I can shop somewhere else simpLe as that Thank You
I really dislike the mess of making sausage gravy from scratch especially now that I am disabled and living in a small apartment with no prep space and when I crave biscuits and gravy this can item is the next best thing. Quick to heat up. Tastes good and reasonable priced. Definitely a canned food I keep stocked in my pantry.
This Country Sausage Gravy is a must for me. Always have a few on my shelves just in case……. Handy for the biscuits %26 gravy breakfast your husband requests. It is a great starter for putting together your own soups. That's my favorite way I use it.
I usually microwave it, but have cooked on stove too. Tastes good both ways. I have put over biscuits, rice ( I use the 1 minute rice containers), mashed potatoes, noodles, toast or whatever I think it will work on. Is filling and makes good quick meals.
This item has become increasingly difficult to find over the years. When it was no longer available in most grocery stores, I started buying cases of 12 from Amazon . They no longer (at least at this moment in time) have an economical way of purchasing it in that quantity. I barely eat it myself, but it is a staple at my house for others, and it's an easy way to make biscuits and eggs in the morning more special for everyone while still being at least moderately healthy. I was delighted to discover I can get it from Walmart for a reasonable price. Amazon still has the Campbells brand version of this product, but Libby's is better.
This canned Sausage Gravy: easy to microwave, right sized to feed one or two adults, and tastes like home made. Imagine the possibilities. Biscuits topped with sausage gravy. Introducing sausage gravy as a dipping sauce instead of ordinary ketchup, mayo, mustard, melted cheese, or salad dressing. Use sausage gravy as the base for your next hot dish casserole. No imusd. No fuss. Heat in a single dish, leaving only one dish to clean after service.
The Ole lady likes this way more than I do. It has an ok Flavor, it works in a pinch when I'm not feelin good enough to make gravy so i crack this open and make a can of biscuits for a quick breakfast. last time I made some, I burped up gravy all day, didn't settle well on my stomach.
When I bought this, I thought I had purchased it before - like quite some years back. Apparently I had not because as close as cream gravy, peppered country gravy, country gravy %26/or sausage gravy is to this ol' boy's heart, I would have remembered this enough to not do it again. I know that sounds mean, but I don't intend to sound ugly. I just didn't like it. There is an herby flavor I cannot identify - not sage or a regular country sausage flavor I'm used to - but nothing I really want to taste again. That's my opinion but it left me wondering where is that flavor considered normal? All that said, I tried it mixed with some pot roast and pot roast pan broth, and it wasn't bad. Sounds weird I guess, but some experiments do - but taste good. This one did but I'm not in a hurry to do it again. I've got two more cans of this on the shelf and I'll probably end up donating it to a canned food drive or something. I wasn't going to put in a assessment on this product but after a hundred .prompts, I had only to be honest
Upon opening I thought it was very thick and lumpy. Put it in a bowl in the microwave. It smelled odd heating. It tasted stale or something similar. The sausage tasted nothing like sausage. It got tossed. Have since tried another brand dry mix and added a bit of sausage. 100 times better.
There is some sort of taste that reminds me of those little sausages in a can and has a super gross aftertaste that lasts quite a while. One positive is it looks great. Don't even try. Yuck.
