One-Star Review: Extremely Disappointing Experience with Linkind LED Lights
I purchased a set of Linkind LED strip lights anticipating a straightforward installation, but the reality was far from it, leaving the product practically unusable. The adhesive backing is utterly ineffective. Even after meticulously cleaning the surface with isopropyl alcohol as instructed, the strips detached within hours – sometimes within minutes. The adhesive provided appears to be of shockingly poor quality, incapable of holding against minor temperature fluctuations or the negligible weight of the strip itself. Repeated attempts to re-stick them produced identical failures.
Linkind includes mounting clips as an alternative, but these are poorly engineered. The screw holes are undersized and incompatible with standard screws, and the plastic is so brittle that any attempt to drive a screw causes the clip to split or shatter instantly. Even the smallest screws I could find either refused to thread properly or destroyed the clip during installation.
Most frustrating of all, proper alignment and mounting realistically demands two people: one to hold the strip perfectly straight and under tension while the other wrestles with the clips or adhesive. For a product advertised as simple and user-friendly, requiring an assistant for basic installation is unacceptable. Solo attempts resulted in crooked runs, ruined adhesive sections, and considerable aggravation.
