Durable for under Tree Decoration , Great Price only from Walmart, sold by many, best price at Walmart
Although this was a gift for a friend they liked it very much. I bought it for their son and he enjoys running it. This is his very first train set and was a very good gift for him.
Purchased this train to go under the tree in our entry. Read online reviews which were generally positive so ordered online and had shipped to me. Splurged for extended warranty (which we rarely do) just because concerns about durability over the years. Train arrived in perfect order. Easy setup out of the box (though no instructions included- used YouTube). Train is a good size for display and plenty of track to circle the tree (though we use for a display tree without gifts). We use on wood floor- could see issues with use on carpet. Cant yet speak to battery life as we only occasionally use when young granddaughters are over (they push buttons on remote with adult oversight). We are all fans of Polar Express and everyone loves train sounds and vocals from movie. Also like that train goes forward and backward. For the purpose of our purchase (mainly display vs a toy), we have been very pleased and would recommend.
fun for all ages, only down side is that it needs an adult (possibly a teen) to re-align the train on the tracks. If you have more than one little kid, they are bound to keep knocking the train off the tracks in their attempt to play with it, then it takes another 5-10 minutes to get the train realigned again... seems to be fairly sturdy, although my kids did manage to break a bit of it, however, I was able to put it back together, so not too bad.
Polar Express train is easy to set up and looks and sounds great. Remote is easy to use forward and backward.. Works on batteries so no wires to worry about. Need to be careful about setting train on track so that it runs properly. Only Major concern when taking track apart the connecting snaps broke so track became useless for future use. Lionel sent extra replacement track and were easy to work with. Hopefully new track will not break.
This was too big for my tree very nice though
I ordered this train %26 got the more expensive one thinking it was like the one I previously had had. The quality was not quite as good %26 didn't come with the bell or people or prints on the top as the one I had had. It works though %26 my kids still do love it.
purchases protection plan because i know how easy these break due to quality. Not even 1 month after purchase I had to use my claim get money back over a track piece. now 2 years protection plan is voided. You connect these tracks They break immediately. Also hurts your hands. When you disconnect them they break. Why even sell these train tracks? Cheaper trains like Adventure Force brand is 10x better. Track assembles easy they give you extra pieces to easily smoothly connect them. not break your knuckles hands trying to put it together. is there an easier way to do this because I used this 80.00 train once and tracks broke. now i have to buy more. my son which loves the Polar Express can't use his xmas present. wish the tracks were better.
The train was fully functional for the first two weeks (approx). After that, the connection with the train and the remote were not working. Even after changing the batteries (for another set of brand new energizer batteries on both the locomotive and the remote). The sound also had a malfunction as it muted on its own.
I bought this less than a month ago to have set up before the kids woke on Christmas morning. The night before, we set it up. It turns on, but the wheels to not turn. It will not run. I am very disappointed on Christmas. I need to replace it.
