Local Mad Priest Coffee, Sloth Dispelling Breakfast Blend, Whole Bean, Medium Light Roast, 10oz

Mad Priest Sloth Dispelling Blend is my favorite coffee and one I drink every day without getting tired of it. It's a medium-light roast whole bean with real depth and complexity, especially from the Ethiopian beans, which are a standout for me. The aroma is rich and inviting, and the flavor is smooth, balanced, and interesting without being harsh or bitter. It has character and nuance while still being easy to drink — smooth, but definitely not boring. Very clean finish and consistently excellent from bag to bag. It's a little more expensive than I'd ideally like, but for the quality and flavor profile, you'd pay more elsewhere. I'm glad Walmart carries this coffee. It filled the void left when I could no longer find Black Rifle Coffee Company's Mad Science. Easy five stars — highly recommended. TL;DR yum yum yum Mon-Sun

At first I was put off by the irreverent nature of their marketing. I started with Sloth Dispelling Breakfast Blend, which is a light-medium roast by my taste (true to the 2 stars it used to measure how dark the roast was). The coffee bag is a step above any other roaster I've ever bought coffee from. It uses a ziploc like seal that holds its seal fairly well, keeping it fresh for days longer than I experience with other brands--I used whole beans and am comparing it to other whole beans. I used a zero sugar mocha style creamer with it, and it tasted fantastic. I enjoy dark roasts but if I drink them too often they mess with my stomach acid stuff some. But even so, I had to try the other blend, Dark Night of The Soul. Now I love how irreverent they are. I'm a big fan now.

I'm a barista, I've trained with elite roasters like Temple Coffee, Stumptown and Counter Culture. A while ago I went on this little mission to find the best tasting coffee for the least expensive price, which was unfortunate because now I've tried dozens of foul cheap coffees. Mad Priest coffee is petty great and an incredible deal for what you're getting! Honestly it's a delightful surprise at this price point. Give it a try!

This is my absolute favorite coffee! Perfect if you like a medium blend with nuance that doesn't get boring halfway through. Layered but not overwhelming. Complex enough to be interesting every morning, but smooth enough that it doesn't wear you out. Not acidic or burnt in a way that covers up the origin of the beans.

This coffee is so good and it has so much going for it. Not only are the people who make it local and have a great sense of humor, the coffee is smooth and nearly perfectly roasted. I am a heavy coffee drinker, going through at least 2 lbs per month. I grind my Mad Priest coffee in a fantastic burr grinder (which I got at Walmart) and brew it with a Bodum french press (also from Walmart). I add coconut milk and monk fruit to my coffee. I like it sweet and creamy. It is so good!

Freshly roasted, a quality light roast that holds up to more expensive brands. Perfect for a pour-over. The beans are dry and decidedly non-oily and is safe for burr grinders. The taste is wonderful, even with minimal sugar.

4 out of 5 bags of this coffee will be great. Some of the best tasting coffee you can get. Then the next bag will taste so incredibly foul you will have a hard time believing it's the same coffee. It's not cheap either. Walmart require you to return it to the store. I never go to the store because I don't live near and we do delivery orders. When I contacted Mad Priest coffee, the only help they offered was “return it to the store” which is fair enough but not something I'm going to take a few hours out of my day to do for one bag of coffee. If it wasn't for the recurring quality issue, this would be great coffee. As it is, it's not worth the risk of getting a bad bag.

I keep adding more coffee to my machine. Maxwell house is stronger. I have to use more of this Folgers or Maxwell house. I was trying to have a better coffee experience but ain't happened yet. Next pot I'm adding more coffee to try to get it strong enuf but I don't like real strong coffee lol

I loved the name. so clever! but it have me high expectations. when I brewed it in a standard pot, it was too thin and tasteless. only when I used it in my pour over did it really become more.
