This knife got great reviews from multiple cooking websites. It seems to be well-made, but arrived very dull. Having to have it sharpened right out of the gate is disappointing for a knife I spent so much money.
To begin with, the picture and description of this knife would lead you to believe you are purchasing a Mac Professional Series 8 inch chef's knife. What they send is a counterfeit Mac Chef's series 8 inch knife, which is a lesser knife even if it were real. I don't need to tell you how you can tell the difference . There are stories all over the internet of people getting burned by 3rd party sellers on Walmart. Stay away from anyone selling discount Macs, Globals or other high end knives here. Mac does not put their logo in the middle of the blade or have uneven indentations on the blade. Buy through a certified dealer and put theses crooks out of business.
Sharp enough, expected sharper. However the real problem is that there is already rust spots on the knife with barely a month's use. And I have babied this knife: followed the care instructions, kept it in it's sleeve, hardly used it. And rust spots on the blade that don't rub away. Pretty disappointing.
Appears counterfeit. Paint on the blade (sloppy), wrong number of dimples, dimples are too large, shape of the blade where it meets the handle is wrong.
Pretty sure this is a fake. The knife sent is marked as an MTH-80 on the box but the knife in the box has no bolster. Knife was not very sharp out of the box. Box seamed off in terms of quality Price was too good to be true. FAKE.
These are not genuine Mac knives. They are probably Chinese knockoffs. Multiple features are not the same as a genuine knife. These include the wood the handle is made out of. The finish on the blade. The size of the rivets in the handle. Incorrect packaging and labeling. They should be banned from the Walmart site as should the seller.
Not sure if I got a bum one or not but this knife arrived only slightly sharper than a butter knife, literally. Has a great feel and heft. Was packaged well, I think, meaning I don't think it was used but maybe it was and that would explain its condition. Very disappointing
I returned the knive it was not an original Mac Pro knive. Blade would not even cut paper. It was heavy weighed 7.9 oz.
This is a fake product. It is not an authentic Mac knife
My butter knife's are sharper than this. I am sending it back
