Mainstays 2-Slice Toaster with 6 Shade Settings and Removable Crumb Tray, Black

I bought this as a replacement for my last Walmart brand toaster, which lasted about eight years. I purchased this in mid-August, and it’s now mid-October. I use it a few times each week at the lowest setting. I’ve included a picture to show that the plastic is melting. This is something that’s been happening gradually with each use, and that’s concerning. I’m not even old yet, but I can say with confidence that they just don’t make things like they used to. Flimsy is one thing, but a possible fire hazard is inexcusable.

This toaster only really browns one side of the toast. The coils on the inside are clearly not lit on one side of the bread. The dial used to choose. The amount of doneness is very vague and not consistent depending upon what bread is in the toaster. I often have to cook one side and then turn the toast over and cook the other side again. Not the most convenient. The green color is very pretty. It feels like a very cheap lightweight toaster. Easy to empty out crumb tray.

I expect this toaster will last a week. It is very cheaply made. Just pressing down on the knob, you feel like you're going to break it. Also, unless you buy the really small loaves of bread, slices no bigger than 4 inches tall, your slice is going to stick out of the slot by a LOT. Bagels? Forget it. Save your money on this one.

I made toast first time and toaster plastic cover started melting,I returned to Newburgh NY and requested that they recall it and give me my $ , manager took my %23 and never called me. I will return and ask if appropriate precautions were taken. that's a dangerous toaster n I pray children or elders don't use it or anyone.

THIS New out of the box bread toaster doesn't work. plugged it in many electric outlets it never even start to connect. this is bad product. I never trust that manufacturer/ distributor. There's not even simple quality control done to Make sure electrical components are working. that's rip off

used about 20 times. surrounding plastic at the top is melting pretty scary would like a refund but im throwing this out. FIRE or Im ingesting plastic.....see pic left and right side was straight 🔥 🔥

it is so cheaply made that after about 2 months of use the top started warping and melting. It was slow at first I thought I was imagining it. but now they're huge grooves going from the metal where the bread goes in, melting outwards, it's not worth using. plus the inside metal has already detached from the plastic.

When you push the little lover down this toaster refuses to latch, which means it won’t turn on. That means it doesn’t work. It actually worked for about six uses, and that was it. So unless you wanna buy a new toaster frequently, don’t buy this toaster. In fact, Walmart should quit selling it! Money wasted! And I don’t have a lot of money to waste. Thank you, Walmart for selling extremely poor worthless products! I took a video of it to show that it doesn’t latch, but Walmart’s reviews won’t let you upload a video. The sad thing is, I had to give it a five for installation, because it was easy to plug-in. However, having it plugged in and not work, should make that part of the review, null and void, as in worthless, like the toaster!

it looks exactly how i wanted it to, simple. however i did expect it to work! when i pushed down the lever it wouldn't lock down or even come on if i held it down. it was just trash. Walmart was fast to give me full credit and instruct me to just throw it out though! i love their customer service, always quick to take care of the problem, thank you Walmart!!

I was so excited when this got to me. I have to have a separate toaster from my family because I have celiac. This was a little “treat” to myself because the color was so pretty and I was only going to occasionally use it for toast. The very first time I used this toaster, the entire thing caught fire. And I’m not talking little sparks. I mean I had to unplug it and grab baking soda the box of baking soda and my stock pot to suffocate it because the fire extinguisher was not close enough. I am so thankful I did it on my island instead of under my cabinet because my cabinets would’ve caught on fire. A waste of $10 and my expensive gluten free bread 😣🤦‍♀️
