Mainstays 5-Shelf Bookcase with Adjustable Shelves, White

Very useful way to create more storage space for little money. I feel I got my money's worth with this purchase. I used one for a bookcase and art display. I used one shelf set to turn a small closet into a pantry storage area. Easy to put together. I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

I know these are bookshelves but I used them to redo my son’s closet and it worked like a charm. We removed those awful wire racks and placed these instead. They are super sturdy and hold all of his stuff. They only took a few minutes to assemble by myself and then anchored them to the wall. So far they are holding up great and many of my friends have used them as closet storage as well.

I had purchased three, one white, one black and this one in walnut. It wasn't hard to put together but again like others have said the cardboard back panels are cheap/thin or the pins that are supposed to keep it on the back are not good enough. If you are not careful it can pop off (it happened to the white bookcase but not the walnut bookcase luckily). But for the price I will for sure by it again if I decide I need another shelf. I saw another review that used wallpaper to cover up the imperfections of the cardboard back and decided to buy some just in case but just used it to make it look better.

I bought a total of 4 bookcases easy to put together with minimum tools however if you don’t line the backing up correctly you will have an issue with that however adding rods in lot the ones without the back should give it the sturdiness I’m looking for

I'll start this off by saying I have gotten a lot of shelf's from Walmart. I don't normally have an issue there sometimes a little wobbly but nothing that can't be fixed. This shelf though for some reason would not stand up straight. Completely sideways. It fell knocking everything over and smashing into other things I had the gaming room. You might be able to make it and might not have as bad of an experience but we couldn't get it to work.

The most wobbly shelf I have ever seen. Looks like it'll disintegrate if someone bumps into it. We aren't able to wall mount it since we're renting, though, so that might detract from the overall sturdiness. Regardless, it's difficult to imagine a single nail will do that much to keep it together.

Cheap garbage. Not only did it arrive in a box that was ripped almost all the way down to the middle of the cardboard, exposing the material, but now that I've finally put it together it's just flimsy and cheap. The back doesn't properly line up, leaving an unsightly gap between the shelf.

I purchased two of these Bookcases to load with stuffed animals. I know that they are inexpensive and don’t hold a lot of weight, but they seemed to be perfect for my needs. The only problem I had with BOTH sets of bookcases is that they can’t be assembled correctly because the Upper Right Panel D1 is miscut and the edges do not line up. I pulled the D1 out of the second set of shelves and it was also miscut. I cannot use either of these pieces because of the gap. This will also prevent the back panels from attaching correctly. I have called the phone number provided numerous times over a four week period for help, but no one answers. I also left a message but got no response. The voice mail tells you to email [email protected], but they also don’t respond to emails. I need two replacement D1 Upper Right Panels - one for each of the boxes. If this is the kind of customer service response that I can’t get from Megaprima Home, then maybe these bookcases should not be sold at Walmart at all.

What a peice of garbage, I did not notice until asembeld that the grease spots could not be wiped off with WD 40, they are in the particle board, and the white finish on the thing are so thin you can see the particle board right through it, Dont waste your time or money on this, it's junk, but assembled, -------------so how can I return this?---How do I get a refund, and someone to pick up this junk?

I have set up so many cheap-o bookcases just like this. I have bought and assembled previous models of this same bookcase. I have had no trouble whatsoever until this specific model. The cam bolts immediately shattered upon attempting to very gently turn them, and yes, I positioned them exactly as instructed–with the minus on top and plus on bottom, both closest to the screwed in edge. now, I have to disassemble and return this heavy piece of literal trash to Walmart. This is beyond frustrating.
