Mainstays 7/16" Adjustable Spring Tension Curtain Rod, 18-28", Chrome

I purchased a pair of these rods to insert in glass pane embedded front doors. There is barely enough for the rubber ends to grip, but so far, they are doing a great job. Very pleased with this purchase, and if for some reason, they no longer hold, I will use a pair of Command hooks.

My window measures 28" exactly. The rod actually extends past 28", so there is no problem with not having enough tension. It fits snugly inside the window frame. Great price for a spring rod these days. The silver color is nice, since my curtains are a darker color. Just what I needed for hanging my kitchen curtains.

Sometimes they get stuck (not always). You just have to use some elbow grease to get it to move in or out (that would be for first time you try to move them to the size you want... after that they are easily pliable). I actually use these to hold clear shower curtains to my windows to prevent cold air from coming through. I use one at the tippy top, one in the middle, %26 one at the bottom of the windowsill. Does the trick! Keeps the wind %26 cold out. Very easy to remove during the summer %26 very easy to install again in the winter. Once you have the correct size of the rods for the window, you don't need to do that again each winter.

The tension rod holds a lot for being thin. The curtain in the picture is a 10x5 foot patchwwork reversible bed cover that I use to block off my hall from my kitchen and dining area to keep it warm in the winter and cool in the summer because there is no door there. Traditional curtain rods do not work because the opening is not paralell. I use the tension rod upstairs to hang another large and heavy patchwork bed cover in an L shaped hall to heat only a bedroom and bathroom. Very good tension, and easy to adjust. I don't have main heat or air, and I have many rooms that I do not use every day, the tension rods help me heat or cool only what is necessary to keep my electric bill affordable. The rubber tips protect walls or surface and help grip. I have a huge heavy dog that walks through the curtains all day and the tension rods hold the curtains. I waited many hours to write the review to test the tension rods strength. It will fall down if he steps on the curtain, but that's expected. The rods work great. I also use them to hang curtains for closets that don't have doors, and an opening in kithen cabinets with no door.

Very good quality for the price and it looks like it will hold up fairly well. I used it to hang an insulated curtain covering the entrance to a laundry room that is not insulated. The trick with these rods is to avoid bending them, but this one appears to be fairly sturdy.

Used for holiday decorations for front entry. Tension rod inside pool noodle, wrap with garland and insert decorative picks, then insert in front doorway / entry.

I thought these would be a great option for cheap curtains but they kept falling down when opening or closing the curtains and if you tighten them too much they just bend. The rubber ends come off and my kids like to take them. They might work good for a house with no children.

just had 2 set delivered not even an hour ago. opened one and it snapped. Took the second one and it snapped. The other 2 are in the trash. I shouldve known 15 bucks for four was going to be trash. Save your time and money and buy from Amazon or somewhere else.
