Mainstays 7.7in Ergonomic Lightweight Stainless Steel Garlic Press

I actually think this works great.. I don't like that you have to keep track of the insert piece separately, but it does make it easier to clean. I think there's a similar, much higher-priced brand name version of this for which the piece hinges out, but does not completely separate.. for the price differential, it's a no-brainer. This works.

Great performance. Well designed. Simple and functional. The cage is removable. Works amazing compared to the high end brands. Great Job Mainstays Walmart!!!

I can't tell you much about the garlic press just how it looks a haven't use it yet but I did wash it and look at it I will write a review when I use it.

I bought an aluminum garlic press, it came out of the dishwasher with oxidation on it. I threw that out and bought this one which is stainless steel. The garlic press head is actually pretty big, has nice handles and easy to use.

I bought this garlic press hoping for a reliable, everyday kitchen tool, but it fell short after just a few uses. The stainless steel parts feel lightweight and flimsy, and the handles started bending under normal pressure when pressing multiple cloves. It's ergonomic in theory, but the materials just aren't sturdy enough for frequent cooking – I worry it'll break soon. For occasional use, it might be fine at this low price, but if you're a regular home cook, I'd recommend splurging on a higher-quality brand like OXO or Alpha Grillers.

I added this item to a grocery delivery order to a friend's house so I wouldn't have to chop a bunch of fresh garlic. At first glance at the photo, it looked just like the one I use at home. But if I were shopping in store, I'd not have bought it, despite the reasonable price. First, it's really stiff and hard to squeeze, even without loading garlic into it. (If you have arthritic hands, you'd be better off hand chopping with a knife.) Second, the handles are hard plastic - not the cushy comfort grips I'm used to. And lastly, this one doesn't have the molded silicone 'dots' on the back side so you can squeeze it backwards to push all of the garlic out. With this one, you have to use a knife to scrape the remains out. Overall, poor quality and difficult to use.

Not only is it hard to use, but it's hard to clean. When washing it is best to disassemble before hand and DO NOT soak as it rusts… even when garlic is stuck in the grates.

Garlic press fell apart after second use. Comes in two pieces. The piece that goes into the actual garlic press itself bent and wouldn't go back into the press.

The base of the press broke off after a couple months of normal use. Its not a part of the removable piece for cleaning, so I had to throw it out. Get a better brand

I washed it one time after receiving it and didn't even use it, and put it in the drying rack. Already rusted. Terrble quality. Definitely NOT stainless steel.
