While it may seem like a lot of parts when you first open the box, the parts are similar, and if you set them out in piles, assembly goes very fast. My husband assembled each shelf on its end so that he could see where to put the poles and also tap with the rubber mallet (that you supply). Once each shelf was assembled, assembling the unit vertically was very quick. The shelving unit seems very sturdy and we're excited for the large space between the small smaller shelves to be able to put our winter boots.
This rack is wonderful for shoes. There are 5 people using this at the moment. It has just enough space to hold all of our shoes. I really like the 2 bigger spaces for boots. My ankle boots never fit on a regular shoe rack. They fit nicely on this one. The shelf spaces are actually large enough for multiple pairs of kids shoes. My toddler has 4 pairs on one shelf!
I was surprised to find that this rack was packed tightly unassembled in a box therefore it was easy to carry from car to home. The instructions were easy to understand, I had no difficulty assembling the rack in less than 15 minutes. Sturdy as described, great product for the price.
It was a little difficult to put together but I was able to do so. the two hanging hooks come off too easy when I try to take an item off. It is the perfect size and I modified where the shelves went to put the big areas on the same size. One holds my purses perfectly and the other holds a storage box for bigger bags. the top solid piece is perfect for small purses and wallets in easy to reach style. It is perfect for what I needed even if it took a bit to put together.
We are currently staying in a small condo that does not have a pantry, so we ordered this to store some of our food/goods. It is very sturdy and works really well for our purposes. Really compact, small footprint, but can hold a lot.
Good option if you really need something to store your shoes on asap. Not the highest quality, but good quality and versatility for the price. It definitely can't hold anything heavy but it can handle light things like dvds fine. It ended up being a bit too tall for what I needed it for, but it was incredibly easy to take apart and reassemble a different way. It's basically like legos but for adults haha. If it ends up not being right for your space, you can always turn it into something that is.
when the product arrived I opened it and saw all the pieces I had to assemble! you have to put the entire thing together including the shelves. then I noticed a couple of the rods were damaged and splitting at the end or miss shape. then I noticed it came with 3 extra so it worked out. but the metal rods are very thin metal.... bout as thin as you could possibly get it. assembly was not that tough once you have system down. takes about an hour. it ended up being very strong. I expected to see saging and it's not it's fairly solid once put together and it looks pretty good, although a little cheap looking. I used in my kitchen to hold food storage containers.... it's working out good so far! so yeah surprisingly tough for how it was looking when I started. I would not buy again it's to poorly manufactured. not even removing the bird on the ends. thats a lot of ends to get cut on! I had to file them off myself using a standard file. they skipped some steps that would have made it a much better product. I'm satisfied. I'll keep it. but doubt I'll order again. thanks
I will be returning this after opening the box and reading instructions for assembly. This isn't truly adjustable. The only way to adjust height for taller shoes is to remove a shelf, but you cannot move the shelves up or down. Additionally, it is not descriptive enough to share what the height is between shelves. I never put it together, so 3 stars for the benefit of the doubt, but overall disappointing.
Each piece is small and takes too long to assemble. I want to return this. It also came in two boxes that arrived seperately with several days in between . Glad I did not try to immediately put it together since a whole box of pieces was not here on the same day. How do I return this?
Assembly: the ends of the very, VERY thin metal of the poles bend and split easily if you don't get them lined up perfectly before pushing them into the tight holes. They are made to fit snug in the holes, it can be a little frustrating to try to get all 4 ends in each hole without one popping out, not impossible, but frustrating when one pops out or bends. Material: spec lists material as steel.... the small poles are a very, VERY thin "steel" and the connectors are plastic. The top "shelf" is just a plastic sheet that you slide 2 of the poles in and 2 under, so I don't suggest putting anything more than a hat or something light. Design: While this looks aesthetically pleasing in the photos, it can be challenging to put certain shoes (or shoe sizes) on the racks. Any shoe with a heel has to be put on the rack precisely so it doesn't fall through, no matter how skinny or wide the heel is, the length of the shoe is what matters. Also, some of my ankle boots didn't fit on the regular shelf, so I have the ankle boots taking up space on the tall spots which seems like a waste, or you can turn the shoes to put them on and off, but other shoes may be in the way so I think this will drive me crazy. My husband's, low-top sneakers don't fit on the regular shelf so I'm going to have to get a different one for him.
