Read reviews for this product and most leaving negative reviews do not have the bag installed correctly🙃. When wrong the lid will not close properly and the bag is viable which it shouldn't be when the lid is closed. When correct it is a nice trashcan for the price. Does take a little getting used to removing the bag when taking the trash out but I would buy again.

For the price, the best looking trash can. Getting trash bags out is a little difficult when they are full, you need to firmly hold the trash can to get the bag out. On the flip side, it's a bit tricky putting in the new bag, but once you learn to pull the bag retainer down and stretch the new bag over it and onto the "hooks", it's not bad. I've had it for about a month and would buy it again.

Needed a regular sized kitchen garbage can and found this one in stock at my local store. The ring around the top of the inside holds the bags in very securely even if you are smashing things down. Four small rubber feet on the bottom help keep it from sliding around or scratching the floor. The foot pedal that operates the lid works well and doesn't require a ton of force. I have no complaints and this is definitely another quality Mainstays product.

it looked like stainless steel but it's all plastic which was ok because it's really nice looking. the great features for us - very wide opening - very easy open/lid lift - soft close (no loud slam/thunk) i would absolutely buy this again unless it fails fast (we've only had it for a week - so the test of time is yet to be determined.

I bought this mainstay trash can, to replace my stainless steel trash can~ I loved it, however , it was falling apart. It was 14 years old. This was probably the best $25 purchase I've ever bought. I read most of the reviews and a lot of people are saying that the trash bag doesn’t fit or that the lid doesn’t close the trash bag has to go in first and then wrapped around those ring edges. Don’t try to lift the ring up and then put it through that way anyway I did have a video. I don’t know why I can’t upload it. I’m going to try If you’re hesitant about getting this product, don’t be !!! it’s the best faux stainless steel trash can I’ve ever seen

It's plastic that looks like stainless. My biggest complaint is that if you want to put in a standard garbage bag the lid doesn't want to close. You have to fuss with it to have a bag in and a closed lid. Otherwise, it's a garbage can, serves its purpose.

I had to played around with it then I figured out that I wasn't supposed to stretch the garbage bag around the outside of the can ( looked tacky) and put the ring on top of it. I had to put the bag in the can then tuck the top of the bag around the the ring then put the ring down to secure the bag. The top will close and now the garbage can has a sleek look.

Regular kitchen, garbage bags do not fit the top of this garbage can at all. Not even close. I have no idea what kind of bags will fit and stay secure at the top of this can

Do not waste you money. As soon as I opened it I knew it was crap just based how flimsy both the “stainless steel” and plastic is. I decided to give it a shot anyways and here’s how that went…when you press the peddle, the lid Flies open and slams into the wall. There a part where the lid is supposed to connect to the opener to prevent that, but it doesn’t actually connect, it just barely slides through a slot, so it immediately comes undone. There’s a separate piece of plastic that’s meant to hold the bag in place, but when the bag is full, it’s near impossibly to remove that piece without tearing the bag. Because of the barely connected lid, it stays wide open more often than not, and doesn’t close all the way because the entire can is so cheap and flimsy the lid doesn’t line up with the base. It’s being used for 3 more days until an actual usable can arrives, and then it’s being returned. Don’t waste your time.

Whoever the idiot is that sticks, the sticker right on the front of the garbage can needs to lose their job. I have used every chemical in my house to try to get the sticker off and it will not come off it wouldn't matter if they put it on the back of the garbage can like a normal person would but they stuck it right on the front and I can't get it off I just can't imagine somebody being that dumb. Who wants a garbage came with a sticker right in the front and believe me when I tell you I have used everything to try to get it off.
