Mainstays Metal Storage Loft Bed with Book Case, Black, Twin

We put this up a couple days ago for my 8 yr old. He loves it! Especially the shelves since he can put together his legos and display them. VERY STURDY! All the shelves are a really good size. The shelf on the top of the bed is perfect for him to lay his glasses at night and his tablet that he has his wake up alarm on. Other reviewers complained the ladder part was too sharp but i don't see an issue. Its actually smooth but of course if you are heavy and going up a metal ladder, its not very comfy. Haven't felt any sharp pieces on any part of the bed. My only complaint so far is that it took much longer to put together than it should have bc all of the screws require the stupid allen wrench. Serious pain in the butt, especially if you have bad nerve pain in your hands and wrists like i do. Start making these beds with regular screws you can use a screwdriver with please! My hubby has big hands and fingers so it was really difficult for him also.

This bed was far from expected. When I first saw the bed and the reviews I was skeptical but I bought it anyway. It was a great hight for my 8ft room. Though I've only had it for a few days it has proven to be very good quality. There was only one small dent in one of the mesh pieces but I wasn't bothered by it. The only issue is that it's very loud turning over causes a squeak. Other then that it's perfect.

This is perfect. We have an almost 6 year old boy who is rough on everything. I tried to find something sturdy that would last him a long time. It isn't extremely loud or rickety on a carpet floor and holds him well. It has so much space for his puzzles, toys, etc. We put a desk underneath for him to do his school. I believe it took my husband roughly 2 hours to put it together solo.

it took about 2 hours to put together but overall directions were clear. for most steps our 12 year old was getting us the next piece and screw ready for us. seems very sturdy, a little wider than i expected but looks great, and kids are pleased! we slid in our twin xl bed under this one and still had room for a nightstand

I've been looking for loft beds for my kiddos that checked all of the boxes: sturdy, ladder that is part of the bed and not sticking out into the room, and storage. These beds meet all of that. It doesn't have a built in desk but I bought one that fits perfectly on the opposite end from the shelves. I got 3 and put them all together by myself and they took just over an hour each to assemble. They have a great design and easy instructions. I love these and would recommend to anyone.

Sooo easy to build but very heavy duty so one person building is close to impossible. A little bigger than expected but it has so much space on the shelves, lots of space under to put dressers and chests, and an additional outer shelf that holds plushies and Knick knacks. My son loves it

One shelf's screw holes don't match the frame. After completing the entire bed and attempting to instal the very last shelf, the screw holes on one side of the shelf do not match the frame screw holes. We checked and triple checked the instructions and confirmed they were off. Luckily my husband had the ability to repair and redo the holes to install the shelf properly. Really odd. Frustrating considering we were at 99% complete and then the last part didn't work.

Great bed so far, except for the shelves and assembly. The holes for the screws on the shelves aren't drilled with correct distance, so we had to mount the shelves upside down for it to fit the holes. Somewhat disappointing, but otherwise a great bed for the price.

The very first piece we picked up to assemble was missing the screw holes. Lucky for me I have power tools and the right size bits, but that seemed like a huge quality issue. The Allen wrench is very tiny, so you may have to use your own if you have large hands (I don't, but my husband does and he couldn't use it). Otherwise, the bed was easy to put together and seems sturdy.

Lots of space. Metal rungs are not comfortable to walk on. Structure is stable but wobbly. Tightening screws for some shelves resulted in cracks in the metal shelves. We will seek to get these replaced. Easy to build.
