Mainstays Performance Cotton Hand Towel, Super Soft Quick Dry Fade Resistant, Solid Black

I was curious about the difference between the “Performance” Mainstay towels and the regular Mainstay towels, so I did a little comparison. Performance has slightly more material, the color is richer (in black, anyway), and it's a bit softer (at least before 1, 10, or 50 wash cycles). I think either will work great, and that the standard is a better value, and the Performance is indeed, slightly more premium. I hope this helps others curious shoppers purchasing online.

I bought these to match bath towels I previously purchased. I wanted to buy them at the same time, but Walmart - in their infinite wisdom (desire to get people in the store probably) did not have them available for shipping. (I mean why have bath towels available, but not the matching hand towels?) Anyway, when they became available for shipping, I snagged them! (BTW - neither the hand towels nor bath towels were actually shipped - they were delivered directly from the store.) The towels are soft, absorbent but dry quickly. Color doesn't fade and they don't pill. Am enjoying using them!

I bought the bath towels. I didn't see any hand towels or washcloths to match but they popped up one day a couple months later and I had to buy the washcloths and hand towels to match I haven't been to the laundromat yet but I can't wait to wash them and use them.

Nice quality hand towel. Have the solid terracotta ones to match the Mainstays terracotta "popcorn" bath towels and the solid green to go with the green popcorn texture bath towels. Both launder well and are soft. Mainstays makes a nice towel at a reasonable price point that will complement any bathroom.

I needed something for the color to go with other fall colors in the guest bathroom. I did not need these ones to use as towels more of a color. These are super thin for towels and probably not hold up in many washes. However, they were perfect for the color and for the cost you cannot beat it.

Good for the price! Better quality and thickness when compared to most budget brands. Okay for every day use. Color is very nice shade of green, i have washed once in cold water and it didnt fade on other items. Only time will tell how well the color holds but i am sure the boys will stain it up much quicker than it looses its color.

This review is for the "Mainstays Performance Solid Hand Towel, 16" x 26" Comparing the present price of the hand towel to the bath towel there is only a dollar difference in price. (Bath towel: $3.97, Hand Towel: $2.97) Considering you get twice as much material in the bath towel, leads me to believe the Hand towels are OVERPRICED> However, there is another bad issue with these hand towels. Both ends of the hand towel do not have a DOBBY BORDER. So what is a dobby border? It is the woven stripe near both ends of the towel. It is not there for decoration, but serves an important purpose. It helps the towel keep its shape through use and many launderings. Without that woven stripe your towel may develop an out of square shape. YUCK !! It is a QUALITY ISSUE ! The manufacturer CHEAPED out and Walmart let them. Otherwise, a fair product could be a much better VAUE if it was made to a better standard. The material feels soft. The colors are nice. BUT CUSTOMERS DESERVE BETTER !!

PROS: budget-friendly/low cost Mainstays hand towel in the shade Brown Basket which comes true to color as shown in image. CONS: Not as absorbing as other hand towels, does leave some lint behind on the skin. OVERALL: The cost is good for us on a strict budget, but the material should be more absorbent than it is. Material is low quality, it is poor with soaking up water or other fluids, and it leaves lint behind on skin. I also purchased bath sheets from this same collection in the same color, and those were even less absorbing and left so much more lint behind on my skin - I'm not sure why there is a quality discrepancy/difference between the bath sheets and the hand towels of the same product line and color. The price was very appealing to me on a strict budget, but ultimately the quality is too poor for me to buy more. I have three stars instead of one because if you need hand towels on a strict budget and have no other low-cost hand towel options, then the cost is appealing. Will NOT purchase this product again.

The towel is thick and soft, but it needs to be washed separately once or twice before adding it to other laundry. It shed considerably the first two times I washed it, causing me to have to pick little green fluff off my other items. As long as you are aware of this problem, the towel performs just fine.

I cant really give a review because I never actually received this order!!! It was delivered to the wrong location and there is even a picture to prove that but Walmart refused to give me a refund or a replacement so I'm not happy with this company and I decided to boycott Walmart all together because of their predatory business practices!!!!
