Mainstays Poly 12" x 18" Cutting Board

For years I've used wooden and bamboo cutting boards; both types of boards require bleaching and hold smells from food and meat prep and eventually the bamboo board fell apart and I was horrified to find mold growing in between the glued together slats. No more wooden cutting boards for me! This Mainstays Poly cutting board is non-porous, non-absorbent and meets FDA regulations and NSF standards making it the safest board currently available on the market. Walmart's price is under $10, the best price out there. At a whopping 12 X 18 inches it accommodates any cutting I need and is actually a bit oversized for most cutting chores but is easy to clean and the handle makes it easy to maneuver. Putting a clean cloth beneath its surface helps stabilize it on the counter as it does tend to slip around. I highly highly recommend and is probably the last cutting board I'll ever use. As a side note: others complained of sticker removal. I had absolutely no problems removing the stickers whatsoever. If there are problems with removal simply apply a little dishsoap and let stand; sticker should peel off easily.

I have 2 of these cutting boards. one is designated for chicken and thr other for fruits and veggies. I just purchased a new one. My last one lasted more than 3 years. I like the look of wood, but I feel more comfortable using this material for meats.

I wanted a cutting board that had a clean look and was easy to clean. This did both. I am very satisfied.

so happy to have found the bigger size 12" X 18" cutting board at Walmart. Other stores had "regular sizes" at same price which I did not get, so I continued searching until I found this at Walmart Exactly as described

I had one almost like it that i used for years until it got discolored and scratched. I wanted one just like it and was so happy when i found this one for a reasonable price. This one is a little bigger than the old one which is just great.

No real complaints about this cutting board really especially if you're the type to sit, straddle it across your lap and chop ingredients. Now when you're trying to use it on the countertop though you should put something under it like shelf and drawer grip because otherwise it slides all over while you're trying to focus on cutting things up. I just rinse the grip off, let it air dry, roll it up and stow it away so I can reuse it.

The outside edges of this cutting board measure 13 x 19. So it is just a little too big to fit in my dish washer. That's a big let down. Also, just after using it for a couple weeks, it has some pretty good cut marks in it. I don't have fancy knives, so it's not that. I would say it works fine, but overall I am on the hunt for something else.
