Needed this in a pinch, and it really did the job well! it heats up fast and it boiled a big pot of water in a short amount of time (not any longer than my stovetop at home). aits very light and can be easily transported, but don't let the weight fool you, this little thing is a workhorse!

A nice little hot plate if you need extra cooking space or craft projects that require heating. It's lightweight and easy to store away. It gets hot very quickly, but you do have to learn how to manage the temperature dial. Like most hot plates, it cycles on and off automatically to prevent overheating. My only con would be that it feels cheaply made. Overall, it absolutely does the job for the price.

I have celiac's and am on a cross country road trip. I found out one of the places I'm staying has no cooktop for me to make safe foods. I quickly ordered this thing to use in my hotel room and it has been a life saver. I do need to have the heat up high but it has cooked my chicken and veggies dinners with no problem. For this price, I would highly recommend. Does the job and isn't heavy or bulky for travel.

this is the first hot plate I've found that actually heats up like a range burner. I've tried several, cast iron plate, infrared, standard coil, none of them could boil water. This burner is a game changer! The temperature control is accurate, it heats very quickly, it gets HOT, and cooks evenly. I highly recommend.

Was perfect for what I needed until a repair person could get me onto their schedule, which was a few days after my range broke down. Unbelievable that I didn't have to go without coffee since Walmart delivered it in just a few hours from the time I ordered it. Unbelievable

Our stove broke down, and we purchased this as a temporary replacement until we could save enough money for a new one. There is a little issue with temperature regulation, but once you get the hang of it, it works great.

The reason I only gave 3 stars is because the item keeps automatically shutting off as you're cooking. So if you're frying something or have a pot cooking rice, you have to stay next to the element because it will automatically shut off. You'll be cooking and all of a sudden you realize, it's taking longer to fry someone or the water has stopped simmering/boiling and you look down and realize the element has shut itself off. So you have to dial the knob to off, wait a few seconds to reset, then turn it back up to reheat again. It's very frustrating and it takes twice as long to cook something.

Best I can give on this one is 3 stars. It's adequate as for heat and power. It gets the job done at a low cost. But the two lights indicate it's plugged in and whether heat is being applied. EVERYONE thinks I left the the thing ON when they see the "I'm plugged in" light and thinks there is a fire danger. Kind of a swing and a miss on the design side. But, it works fine.

If you want to cook, this is not the right product that I look for. because during the cooking it goes Off and you have to wait for a while till gets back to heating again. Personally I didn't liked.

I wanted to buy a hotplate to use instead of my stovetop, but this was not a good choice. I decided to fry one egg on first use to see how it worked. The power is so weak that it took about 5 minutes to get to medium heat, and when the egg didn't start cooking, I turned it up to max power. Even with that, it took almost 8 minutes to cook the egg. I returned the item, and after a few days found an 'electric stovetop' of much higher quality with 1800W.
