Mainstays Space Saving Steel Folding Drying Rack - Gray

I put it together myself. It would have gone faster had I read the (lost) directions, ha. Was able to figure it out after one false start.. TIP: After assembled, turn it on it's side and use a rubber mallet along the edges to further secure the bars into the rack. That way, it won't fall apart. There are geared knobs (facing inward), that serve as adjustable hinges. Which I love. I like to flatten it out and lean it against the wall, ladder style . I love the powder-coated aluminum bars, which will never stain my clothes. It's weighs practically nothing and uses very little storage..I am getting 2 more, as I rarely use an electric dryer, these days - Also thinking of using one to create/sew a Pet Tent!

I usually don't air dry much but at times I do and usually dry them on the guest bed. With this new folding rack I can still use the guest room and not cover the bed. I like that it fold up and has metal rods to support all sorts of weights. I don't know what I was expecting but you put this together. Which was slightly challenging until you figure it out. The sides are plastic and the rods are metal but it is still very movable and secure. I like that you can use it against the wall or use it like a V. If you air dry I would recommend this.

I really like the versatility of this drying rack. It is very lightweight, but it can hold a lot! It can be used inside or out. We have a pool and it is so useful to have to hang wet swimsuits on to air dry. It saves electricity not to have to machine dry everything. I put it over the bathtub to hang our "smalls" and keep them out of the dryer. I think it really extends the life of clothing to keep it out of the dryer when possible. It only took a few minutes to put together and it folds flat and fits anywhere. It can be used straight up, in a teepee position or put over the tub like one of my pictures shows. I am getting a lot of use out of it and highly recommend it.

This drying rack is perfect for small kitchen or bath mats that you might not want to put in the dryer, also for small loads of laundry. I really like how it can either stand up against a wall or fold into a A frame. When its folded i do like how small it is for easy storage. My only wish is that i can lock it into a shap but it hasn't moved once placed so its not a deal breaker.

What can I say about this? It is essentially a drying rack. Nothing special but it just works. And this is perfect if you do not have a lot to dry and it is a plus that can it is space saving and can be placed almost anywhere especially if you are living in a small apartment. So let me tell you more about this rack. It is a foldable design made of plastic with metal racks. It can be setup like a tent or be placed in a wall like a ladder. In any case, the setup has a diagonal angle which makes the spacing of the drying rods wide enough so that you can hang your clothes, towels, rags or practically anything else as long as you can place it on the rack. (See pictures.) This unit comes in unassembled. Installation is pretty much simple that you find flat space and insert the rods on one side then attached the other side to the rods. And that’s it. And though it may be simple enough, I would (based on my experience) suggest you have another person to help since assembly (though possible with only one person) can be quite finicky. That person would just hold one side while you attach the other side. (This makes it a lot easier.) And being foldable, it has center locks so that it won’t fold or collapse when you are using it. And being foldable and lightweight, this drying rack is easy to store. I would highly recommend this drying rack to everyone.

I’m pretty happy with my drying rack. It holds a lot. Right now I have it in my bathroom holding my kids’ swimsuits to dry after swimming since they like to jump in and out all day. It has a locking mechanism that you simply turn to lock in the position you want it in depending where you need it. Stand it up in bathroom or fold it over for counter. Pretty neat.

I have not been impressed with the "New! More stable construction!". I would hate to see it the way it was before! The feet need padding or rubber grips to keep them from sliding. It took me several minutes to line the bars up to insert them into the legs. Yes, no tools needed, but it helps to have something to keep the bars from wiggling out of place as you try to line them up. The only thing that was decent was the locking system to keep the legs in place.

This drying rack looks like a great product. It came unassembled with limited instructions. Putting it together is definitely a 2 person project. Placing the drying rails into the frame was difficult. It has two drying positions but in the position against the wall, it was not stable.

I don’t know about “steal”…. Mostly hard plastic and rods are metal. The assembly was not easy; rods do not stay in place and more than half of the rods didn’t “click” or “lock” into assigned pegs, so they are always failing out making the whole thing flimsy and balance uneven, so putting it up right in standing position is out of question even though that is the way I’d prefer to use this drying rack. And, if you choose to go with half folded option over the tub make sure that you put something under the “legs” because the whole thing slips, falls over and rods pop out of their place again; I put a towel, two hand washed bras and silk blouse on it, just to find everything flipped and fallen over inside the tub 10-15 mins later. Ridiculous!! The idea and concept is definitely there but this product needs to improve in order to be useful as it claims to be, otherwise it’s garbage. I am not impressed and I would not recommend this to anyone.

Box says improved, more stable construction but it's still a headache to assemble and then use. Getting all the metal rods to stay in place while lining up with other side is frustrating. I'd get almost to the end and they'd pop out of place and have to start all over. When leaning against a wall it slips and falls. I couldn't imagine a fully load one, even with light items, standing up on its own the whole time drying. It says you can also bend over a tub. But Small spaces like apartments or tiny home don't usually have bathtubs. They have small shower stalls. And if you did use tub, clothes would touch bottom of tub. One towel took up whole rack. I have no idea how the picture on box has mutliple shirts. Maybe kid shirts but not practical for adult clothes or drying multiple items. They all touch each other. This thing is awful in so many ways. My wooden drying rack is way better and worth the space it takes up. DO NOT recommend this space saving drying rack. Not a good product. Not a good design even with improvements.
