The Mainstays Stainless Steel 24 Piece Cookware Set has everything you need to complete your meal. This set includes a 1, 2, and 3 quart saucepan, as well as 5 quart Dutch oven all with lids. The 10-inch fry pan with lid, is a nice size and holds enough food for my family of four. The stainless steel casserole dish comes with a wire rack. I like to use it to make brownies and then use the rack to let the brownies cool. I love that this set also comes with a four piece measuring cup set and 4 small ramekin bowls with lids. There are also 4 utensils included to help you cook any meal. I enjoy using stainless steel cookware because it heats up quickly and evenly. The only downside of stainless steel cookware is that the handles do get warm or even hot while cooking, and I have to cook with pot holders or silicone sleeves. These pots and pans are well-made, and they are also very durable. The measuring cups can be clipped together for easy storage. The utensils are also strong and long-lasting. I like that this set is oven safe and the lids are heat and shatter resistant. I can place my meal from stove top right into the oven without changing pots or pans. They are easy to store. The pots and pans as well as the utensils come with built-in holes in the handles for easy hanging. They are also easy to care for. They are stain-resistant and dishwasher safe.
Important- While the set is mostly stainless steel it is aluminum clad on the base (a magnet will not stick to the bottom of them) so it won't work with induction cook tops. It does work well on my radiant glass cooktop. This set has just about everything someone starting out would need as far as pots, pans and most utensils goes. These have a tri-layer base for even heat distribution. The lids are vented which is important for those with glass cooktops. I've heard a couple times where people put a hot unvented lid on a stove, let it cook and tried to remove the stuck lid to find that it shattered their glass top. Let's be honest, this isn't your well to do parent(s) or grandparent(s) thick bottomed super heavy duty pots and pans. But, I can honestly say that it is a good starting set that will last as long as it is cared for properly. I most recommend this set especially for someone starting out that needs everything. The biggest complaint I have is with the plastic lids for the little condiment bowls. They don't snap on and only rest on top. They are definitely not air tight or spill proof. Given this is such a small part of the overall set it doesn't really bother me personally but I find it worth mentioning.
I travel for work and bought these to be a travel set. I did not have high expectations and wanted something cheap just to make soup, pasta, and such. I was very surprised at the quality of this set! For the price, I'm certain you would not find a better basic set!
This set is unbelievable. It has everything you need starting off on your own. Several different size pots and stainless steel cookware and utensils. The pot comes to a boil fast with the three ply base that heats evenly. The set is dishwasher safe. I love this set . I've seen sets similar to this at warehouse stores and name brands that costed almost two hundred dollars and didn't have as many pieces.
Mainstays Stainless Steel 24PC SET is absolutely wonderful. I love all the different things it came with. It has a wonderful casserole dish that comes with a rack that fits a good size meatloaf or whether you would like. It also comes with four little dipping bowls with lids, so you can save sause that you have left over. I have found out that if you cook something on a gas stove and it gets to hot it will stick to the bottom. When it comes to washing, the food comes off very well as of right now. They are also dishwasher safe. If you take care of then they should last you a good while. I love that all the pans come with lids that fit perfectly. So if your looking for a big set and want to save money at the same time get this. It would make a wonderful gift as well. I would highly recommend this.
This is a 10 piece pot set, ten piece includes the pot covers. These pots are very beautiful and well made. They are lightweight but very sturdy and not hollow when I test them by knocking on the bottom etc. Amazing how lightweight yet feel so great and well built. One great thing about this being lightweight is I don't have to struggle lifting when filled with food. In the set you have three pots of various sizes and a frying pan also some utensils for cooking. All pots have covers and the bigger pot cover will work as well for the frying pan. It's made of stainless steel and is very pleasing to look at. I really love them and I have tried using on a gas stove and pot came back without no burnt marks or anything it was great. Great and excellent pot to cook meals in and stir fry. I am loving them!
I am a 37 yr old woman. These days I look for tools to save me $$$ and do the job. I don't need crazy expensive pots and pans. I am not a chef and not being paid to cook...lol I needed a new set and they were a fantastic price. Granted they are not top of the line and you cant possibly expect the world at a price point of $39.99 but I love them. I had 1 dented lid knob but that was it. A couple of pots had the black metal grease on them that someone had mentioned. Just give them a good scrub by hand and then thrown them into the dishwasher. They are fine. I never had black water like someone else said. I have had them for 1-2 months and we use them daily and we like them fine to cook and eat :) As far as eggs or anything that will stick just get 1 pot and or pan that is a non stick for that use. I just saved 1 old non stick pan from my old set just for that and now have a shiny new set. I am grateful for the price point and they really are cute. I love the 3 bowls, and 3 utensils that came with the set. Thank you Walmart!
This 18 piece cookware set is great. I love that it has the pots, pans and Dutch oven, but I was excited for the added bonus of 3 mixing bowls and 4 cooking utensils. So far they all seem to be pretty good quality. The pros of this set are that there's a right size cooking vessel for everything you want to make. The handles stay cool to the touch while cooking. The pans heat up fast. The mixing bowls come with lids for each one so you can store leftovers in them. Just make sure to keep on medium heat to avoid burning and sticking. There aren't many cons, but atleast one is that the lid handles get really hot while cooking, so remember a pot holder. Also, the cooking utensils are a little large for the cooking vessels and are really stiff. Overall, this cookware set is great and I would recommend it to anyone.
Mainstays Stainless Steel Cookware and Kitchen Combo Set is listed as an 18 piece set but is actually 21 pieces (I think they didn't count the lids to the bowls as separate pieces). This is an ok starter set for someone just moving out on their own and is on a budget. This is a very lightweight set and the sizes are smaller than I am used to. Stainless steel is usually a bit heavier and thicker. The lightness could be beneficial to someone with hand/wrist issues so they don't have to pick up something so heavy. The benefit of stainless steel compared to nonstick cookware is you don't have to worry about the coating coming off. You do have to use a bit more oil to make sure the food doesn't stick, but you can use any kind of utensils with them. I really like that this set comes with the 3 sizes of mixing bowls and even better is that they have lids to go with them as well. So many bowls don't come with lids, but it makes refrigerator storage so much easier. This set also comes with 5 glass lids which is surprising because 2 of the lids are the same size and many sets would only have come with 4 lids to economize. This is nice when using more than one pot/pan at a time and need those lids. The lids have steam holes in them which is very important so things don't boil over. I once got an expensive set of cookware that doesn't have this feature so I can't use any of the lids on it. Now that is one feature I make sure is present in any set I get.
Those pots and pans were so cheaply made that the FIRST time I used each one (on medium heat no less), the metal corroded and pitted immediately. I was horrified and returned them which really stunk because we didn't have any others as backup and are still in the process of trying to do enough research to find something that won't repeat this terrible experience. Please do not buy these, even if they don't pit on you or corrode, they are clearly made of inferior materials that could be harmful to you and your family.
